That's what I'm wondering too. I don't know how other countries have their security in airports set up though so it may just be a different procedure and that is how he got through.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I first heard about this too. I was like "What? HOW?! Had the security people fallen asleep or something?!" D=


Who knows exactly who was responsible for him being able to get onto the plane with that stuff, but I am EXTREMELY glad nothing serious came of it. Especially with it being Christmas day.

I think he's full of hoo-ha.
I haven't heard anymore since last night, but it kind of sounds like a guy working on his own, claiming he works for AQ when in reality he's just some guy who has no idea what he's doing, but it sounded nice in idea for him.

We must remember tho, even though there is advanced technology in most airports, simple things like what he had can still be pretty easy to sneak on.
A lot of airports will be getting x-ray machines to see through people's clothing. However, I doubt Amsterdam will be top on the list.

Yeah I almost freaked when I heard about this.
I live almost 45 minutes away from the DTW (detriot metro airport)
I have always feared something like this.....
& they said this "Guy" was under a watch, but not under the "No Flight" list.
He was part of Alkida, so he did atempt it for a certain purpose.

I should add that half of the newscasters reporting this are just spewing propaganda.

When you go to any flight from Europe to the US, you have to go through so much more security than any where else.

I have two theories about this.

alkida hits big cities, large amounts of people. With this attack they didn't increase the number of possible victims, or even do the same amount. They reduced It, by A LOT. So ..

1) he isn't even part of alkida

or

2) there was something special about THAT plane. They are no longer attacking america as a whole, but small groups or individuals of importance to them.

or

3) they just wanted to make a point. America jacked up the security yet they still got past us. They wanted to make sure that we know/think that we are never safe. They are making fun of us. It wasn't

They said that the bomb was duct-taped & the powder of the bomb could not detinate because of the duct-tape. They reaction couldn't occur. So that's why nothing happened. But yeah, he's a "branch" of the Alkida.
