This morning a man in a ski mask and in all black tried to kidnap a middle school girl at her bus stop at knife point before school. Thankfully, the bus pulled up just in time and scared the man away. The girl ran on the bus sobbing. This all happened barely 5 minutes away from my house, and the girl goes to the middle school in my school district. Before he fled the scene, the man yelled back at the girl "but i'll be back!". :scared1:

I am freaking out, this was SO close to my house!

Lets all hope police get him soon.

thats way creepy....the same thing happened to us a couple days ago. a girl was walking to the bus stop and there was this creepy man following her so she started running and then he started running and then she mad it to the bus and he just walked away i guess cause there were other people there....scary!!!!! :scared1:

can you possibly carry mace? (mace, not pepperspray, mace)

but, you probably shouldn't worry too much, just be cautious.

statistically, victims of violent crimes are hurt by people they know. its very very slim odds that some random person would just grab you and hurt you. perpetrators usually go after victims they know, and (in their mind) have a reason to hurt. does that make sense? i highly doubt it was a random act. (and since he was wearing a mask, its impossible to know)

also, a simple way to stay safe is to put a whistle on your keychain. the women's center at my university gives them out for "rape prevention."

people will look if you blow a whistle. i have one on my keychain. its simple, but it can really help you feel a lot safer.

actually, i did buy mace a year or two ago xD

and i think i will wear a whistle, i have one from reffing haha. anything to make me feel safer (:

Gosh that's scary..

My sister lives on the second floor of an apartment complex and she said anytime she feels that somethings not right when she's walking up there, she'll act like she's yelling for someone to "hold on" that she's coming. So if there is someone following her, they'll think there's someone or someone's up ahead.

do you have a key chain? i know a lot of mace comes where you can put it on a key chain, along with the whistle.

some crimes are being committed near my campus (needles found in vending machines, and a dead body was found at a near by apartment complex) so the women's center has been handing out more and more whistles.

but, again, random criminal acts are very rare, and its very likely that the dead person knew the person who killed them, so i'm trying to not worry too much.

but don't go anywhere alone if you can help it.

Wow people are messed up..

A few weeks ago a guy dressed as a woman was driving around an unmarked short bus and tried to get 5 elementry girl students onto the bus because "their bus broke down". By some miracle they didn't get on. Thank god.
