Attacked at Disneyland

She was NOT attacked at Disneyland.

She was attacked in an off-site hotel, about 3/4 of a mile south of Disneyland (near the convention center). Nothing to do with Disneyland, just a horrible person committing a crime against someone in Anaheim, CA. Why did you post this saying it was AT Disneyland?

while it says "across the street", it really isn't. It is across from the back area of the Paradise Pier hotel parking. It is not one of the better areas of Anaheim, but the motels are cheap.

Unfortunate & scary experience for sure. I hope she's ok. But yes, you really should edit your title. Even the news article, who normally is the one to over sensationalize everything, had it right "attacked ON trip to Disneyland", not attacked at Disneyland.

Yes, you can tell this is a sensationalized article just by the fact that the first 2 paragraphs are filled with unrelated emotionally charged points.

I agree that its a tragedy, and scary. But DL is in a city, crime happens everywhere. Also as others mentioned this is not "across the street" the way we think of the hotel's on Harbor, that part sounds very misleading to me. Once incident is not a trend.

This is very unfortunate but as a Canadian, who feels very safe travelling into the U.S. for visits such as Disneyland, I do think this new article is making more of the location than should be made.

This could have happened, and does happen, anywhere - in fact just last month, in this woman's very own town, another woman was violently attacked - so being in Disneyland did not make her any less safe.

That is just horrible. This is a fine example of violence against women.
According to the news article, the alleged attacker is also suspect in other similar crimes against women in the area. It would be good if the police would release his identity to the public. That way, if the punk is released on bail, society has a better chance to protect themselves.
I am so glad that the victim was able to fight back with what sounds to be every ounce of her being. She is correct, in that when being assaulted, if your attacker gains the upper hand, especially at a very crucial and pivotal point, one may very well be done for.
I feel very sorry for her and her friend. What a rotten experience that was for them. I only wish that she could have knocked the creep out cold. Then he could wake up in hand cuffs. Like to see how tough he will be then.
