Attack of the Lakeshore Lodge

I really hope that CFW isn’t rolled into LSL. I am getting really excited about this property but will have a hard time giving up my direct RIV points to stay there.

I feel like we’re stuck right now waiting for details! Should we wait and buy LSL? Buy more direct RIV before they sell out? Buy resale RIV equal to what we own direct as a swap? 😩

Depending on points charts and the full suite of amenities, this could be an amazing resort.... I think their best chance is to go true luxury not RIV/VGF, but true luxury and have a points chart that costs a premium... especially if there are restrictions... make it extremely exclusive that would help me forget about the fact there is a trailer park with bunk beds in the queen size master bedroom rolled into the association and that it is now part of a trust that they can dilute with whatever they'd like whenever they want to...

Then again, this might be one I just rent points/transfer points to visit!

What does CFW being included or not have to do with your thoughts on LSL?

We just got back from the fort today, I think someone asked me to do a trip report on CFW, but we actually have an RV so we didn't stay in the cabins. We definitely looped through them countless times on our golf cart, and I have been inside one, but I don't want to review a place I've not actually stayed in.

As for LL, the place is absolutely massive. It's really hard to understand until you're on the boat passing by and you realize that where you think the resort ends, is actually just half of it. IT went up, LL went out, so to me it feels like it would be a lot of walking. I also can't wrap my head around how they will manage the fort and LL traffic at the dock, or if that resort will have dedicated buses to MK. And if they do, what would stop fort folks from skipping the longer boat ride and hopping on the bus.

I will say that we had the absolute best time at the fort. We were there for 5 nights, only went to 2 parks for maybe 3 rides and 3 hours total. There's a scavenger hunt fb page and my kids and I drove miles around that place every day participating, both hunting and hiding. It is such a beautiful, family friendly place, people are very dedicated to their disney decor, especially during the holidays, and I'm not going to lie here, there is a part of me that has considered just investing in a much nicer RV and golf cart and selling most of our DVC after this trip. We go back for Halloween, so I'll let you know if I still feel the same after that. 😜

Stories like this make me realize the FT is a hidden gem. If we lived closer I could totally see us going there often.

I bet they put docks in like Crescent lake, & do rounds the same way... much more than they do now. Make loops with BLT/Contemporary dock, & WL dock, etc.

FWIW, plans show a dedicated boat dock (and there are piers currently being driven in that same area) and a quite large bus station (both circled in red below). Both of which make sense to me given the +/- 950 room count.

FW has bus service to MK now (which is often empty as most people tend to use the boat) so highly likely that will continue and also serve LL, in my opinion.

That's what the original concept art showed. Will have to see if Disney follows through. Hope so!

ETA:

Here is the original concept art for the treehouses. They were planned to go to the side of the main building. You can see the pathways for the A frames just barely in the foreground. Also including the original concept art for the A-frames, much closer to the water.

The A Frames are now on both sides of the main complex. You can see the beach in from of them in the art. That where the A-frames are right now. Maybe there’s still another layer of build behind the a frames. But I don’t see the concept art matching what’s on the ground right now. But maybe.

I
I’ve been told that there’s a new dock area to be built. And also two more boats will join watercraft specifically to serve Lakeshore

So it may have treehouses and A frames??? That is pretty amazing and has just upped my interest.

From what I understand from plans and see from on the ground construction, it's something along the lines of 8 waterfront A-Frames on the "west" side of the resort, 5 waterfront A-Frames on the "east" side (the old Clementine's Beach / closest to the FW boat doat) and 4 Treehouses that will be between the waterfront east side A-Frames and Pioneer Hall.

Yes, the A frames were on both sides for the original Reflections site plan as well.
