This is the first year ever that we have not put in a garden. What with all the drama in our lives(car accident, DH sick, vacation, Christian) I just couldn't get up the gumption for it.So our garden area lies fallow and DH is sad.
But have no fear--Mr. GreenJeans is here! With about 90 big, fat, red tomatoes from his garden.
Our friend planted 78 tomato plants in his back yard. Now, we don't live out in the country. We live in a large suburb in metro Atlanta. His backyard is wall to wall green beans and tomatoes. He called DH up and offered to bring "a few" and DH said, "Sure! Cathy just LOVES canning vegetables!"
Thanks, DH.
So here I am canning tomatoes today. I have my 22qt canner full and still a big bag of tomatoes on the floor. I have given a big bag to another neighbor and even called our foster son, Eric, to get him to pick up some. And now that I've got the 'maters in the pot, I can start on the kosher dill pickles. Oh, yeah.We got cucumbers too.
