We just moved to MI and got ATT uverse and direct tv and really like both. My DH and I both take online classes so reliable internet is important to us.

I've has Uverse for over a year now (switched from Comcast) and have been really happy. I like that you can access your DVR'd shows from any box in the house. One thing though is that only the 'main' box can pause/rewind live TV.

We really like all the Free On-Demand and my daughter loves the Kids Multi-view channels.

We had Directv and lost signal ALOT.

I do not know what deals they currently have, however check the website and call. There are lots of different offers depending how many services you have with them (ie. tv, wirelss service, home service or internet).

We had tv and Internet for $90/month as an introductory offer. When we switched from Comcast it was because Uverse offered unlimited bandwidth every month. Their 12MB service was actually slower than the 8MB service we had with Comcast but Comcast had a 250GB/month cap on Internet. Then on May 2 Uverse switched to a 250GB cap. We believe this is to discourage people from switching off the tv service and buying a streaming video box. As soon as we heard this we switched off the tv and bought a streaming video box. We really don't watch much tv so it was basically to punish them for lying to us about no bandwidth caps.

They still are better than Comcast with their caps because if you go over 250GB Uverse will charge you $10 for every 50GB over while Comcast will ban you for a year. So if you're a heavy Internet user Uverse is still an okay deal.

We switched from DirecTV to Uverse and are very happy. We were still under contract with Directv and Uverse paid our cancellation fee to Directv and we also got $100 visa gift card.
