What are your tips to getting to the rides fast? What ride would you try and get to first? Thunder Mt?

If possible and it's a 9 a.m. park opening, I'd get a before 8:30 a.m. PPO reservation at BOG (you can pre-order as little as you like... drinks? cupcake?) and you usually get to ride Mine Train before the rope drop crowds.

We went busy April/Spring Break Time this year (7/10 on crowd calendars). Had 8 a.m. BOG, ate without rushing - out by 8:40 a.m. - rode Mine Train twice before rope drop crowds hit. Then did Peter Pan with very short wait (15 mins) - onto Big Thunder Mountain / Splash Mountain / Pirates of Carribbean with maybe 5 min waits. Seems like fewer people rope drop Frontierland/Adventureland, so if you head over there by 9:30/10 a.m., waits are usually relatively short - though, I've never gone during the summer. Before we had our first fast pass at 10 a.m., we also did Swiss Family Robinson. Then, we had our first three fast passes from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. (Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion and Buzz Lightyear), also rode People Mover- followed by 1:25 p.m. TS lunch at Crystal Palace. Worked out well. Peter Pan was our longest wait of the day (used our 4th and 5th fast passes that evening). Enjoy!

Thank you so much! I was thinking of heading to adventure land first! You have given me so much hope! :) :) :)

We've done rope drop twice and it's well worth it. The first time we targeted Adventureland and it was a ghost town. We did Swiss Family Robinson Tree House, Carpets, Haunted Mansion, pictures with Chip and Dale, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder, Jungle Cruise, and Pirates before an 11:30 appointment at Pirate's League.

The second time we went to Tomorrowland and crowds were sparse. We jumped on several rides without a wait the first hour.

It will be great! I followed the tips from one of the bloggers that did a day at Magic Kingdom - was a big help for us. :)

What is the goal time to park your car if you want to get there for rope drop? We are staying off site and I'm trying to figure out if we leave the hotel room by 7 am (we are staying at WBC) and then head over, so parking at TTC around 7:30 I'm guessing (I'm adding time to get from the room to the car, everyone in, and drive)... Anyway if we get there by 7:30 for parking would that be early enough for 9 am park opening or do we need to be there earlier? later?

I roped dropped a couple times in January, and also experienced rather peaceful times in Adventureland and Frontierland until at least 10am.

at MK we always go straight to Thunder Mountain at rope drop, then splash mountain. They are usually both walk-ons early in the morning.
