Hello everyone!!!
My family will be on Wonder on 5/16. We will take the Nasau city tour but decided that we will visit Atlantis by our own. I was wondering if someone could tell me how far is the resort from the ship. Should we take a taxi?
I have been looking fo some information about the island...shopping area...all along the Bay street...Have anyone walked to the shoppes... something besides the straw market please???? ;)

Thanks a lot!!!

We have gone to Atlantis on both of our cruises on the Disney Wonder, and it has cost us 8 dollars per person round trip from port to Atlantis in a taxi.We usually go to Atlantis first, and then when we get back from Atlantis we walk the shops on Bay Street. We only have gone to the Straw Market once, and that was enough for us.

You'll definitely need a taxi to get from the ship to Atlantis. You can see the hotel from the ship, but it is NOT walking distance and we're big walkers.

Take a look through the threads. We came across an Atlantis video earlier today but can't remember which one it was on. Sorry.

Can't help much with the shopping.

Cheers,

Pirate

Just back from the Atlantis.....take a taxi - it's about 15-20minutes away depending on traffic and there's usually alot at that time of day. There are many shops when you get off the ship within walking distance, upscale and resort types. The straw market is right there also. Have fun!

We have been on 4 Wonder cruises and each time visited Atlantis on our own.

You'll find the taxi drivers at the end of the dock and the cost was always $4.00 per person each way with a $l.00 toll on the way over only. There will most likely be others in your taxi, limo or van (whichever they use) and the toll can be shared with the other passengers.

We always found the drivers to be very pleasant and eager to answer your questions.

Have a wonderful time.

WE HAVE GONE TO THE ATLANTIS EACH VISIT AS WELL, BY WATER TAXI MOST OF THE TIME. IT REALLY SEEMS THAT THE WATER TAXI'S PRESSURE TIPS FOR THEIR "GUIDES", WHO TELL YOU ABOUT THE ISLAND WHILE THE BOAT IS MAKING IT'S WAY TO THE DOCK ON PARADISE ISLAND, AND THEN YOU HAVE TO WALK A LITTLE WAYS TO THE ATLANTIS. WE TOOK A REGULAR TAXI ON OUR FIRST CRUISE, AND WE WERE TAKEN RIGHT TO THE FRONT DOOR. IT IS NOT VERY EXPENSIVE, SO WE PLAN TO DO THIS FROM NOW ON. ABOUT THE RIDING TOUR, UNLESS IT HAS CHANGED, WE REALLY DID NOT ENJOY IT VERY MUCH. IT REALLY FELT AS THOUGH WE WERE BEING TAUGHT ABOUT THE BAHAMIAN FLOWERS AND TREES'. BUT I WOULD CONTINUE TO ASK OTHERS ABOUT THAT TOUR NOW, MAYBE CHECK CASTAWAYCLUB.COM. HAVE A GREAT TIME! :bounce:

I also have a question. We are going in November and we want to got to Atlantis. What do they allow you to do at Atlantis if you are not a guest. Some want to gamble and some want to hit the water park. I understand they charge to get into the slides but can you do that if your not a guest? Thanks.

The only way you can use the water slides and pools is if you are a guest at either Atlantis or the Comfort Suite across the street.

Anyone can gamble - they love to take your money for that.

If you want to walk around the Dig (their aquarium) and the grounds you can buy a wrist band for $25. This will not however let you use the pools.
