Atlantis

My DH (31) me (26) and DD (5) will be cruising Oct 27 - 31 on the Wonder. DH would love to see Atlantis. Do the DISer's recommend we take the DCL excursion or wing it on our own?

We went in September and took the Disney Shore Excursion to Atlantis. It is a LOT of walking! When we go back in April, we will just get a taxi at the dock and go over...it's only $4 a person to go by taxi and it does not take long to get there. A taxi ride in Nassau is an experience in itself. When you step off the ship there are plenty of guys offering taxi rides.

I am not sure how much it costs to do the Atlantis Aquarium tour once you get there, but it's probably a tad cheaper than Disney's prices. Even if it is not, I'd do it by taxi just to save on walking. It's a long walk from where the tender docks to the hotel and the hotel tour is long too.

ellyzma; Noticed that you have a DD (5). I would suggest the self tour as we did that with our DS (7,10). We went there after breakfast, visited the aquarium, then came back to the ship for lunch.

Even the self tour of the aquarium is a lot of walking.

BTW the total for us for the aquarium is about $80 plus, can't remember the exact figures.
