Hey all!

There was a post on here about this topic but it's quite old, so I thought I would ask again.

My extended family of 13 just got back from our first DCL cruise (Fantasy, West. Caribbean), and we loved it, and are looking forward to our next vacation in a year or so. My Mom suggested another Disney Cruise, but I suggested maybe Atlantis in the Bahamas would be a good option. 🚢🏨🏖️

I have been to Atlantis myself as an adult and loved it, but I am just wondering about other's opinions who have kids. We would be 8 adults aged 35-75, and 5 kids aged 2, 5, 8, 11, and 12. It would be a week long. I have a feeling we can't go wrong either way! 😎

Thanks so much! 😀🌴

Atlantis IMO is more geared towards an adult trip. We have always steered away from doing excursions there for that general recommendation. Yes they have some kids stuff to do but its really more of an adult resort.

Between those two options and the kids ages I'd say go for the Disney cruise

If you are looking for an alternative to the cruise with young children, try Beaches at Turks & Caicos.

How important are kids’ clubs while on vacation to your family? And organized activities all day?

I grew up where family vacation meant the whole family did activities together. We would have loved having the TV or personal device options available today to keep us entertained.

It‘s all about your families’ lifestyle/ vacation choices. And you don’t have to stay on resort property all day.

There is a huge difference between spending time at Atlantis and another Disney cruise. Of course it really depends on your family. But I'd vote for another cruise over atlantis.

It would be a different experience. There are only a few planned activities each day at the resort. The kids' clubs all have extra fees and I don't they have anything like the nursery for the 2-year-old.

I feel like Atlantis got too big. The last time I was there (which, to be fair, was probably a decade ago) it just felt like I spent all my time trekking from one part of the resort to another. And I feel like (from what I remember) it could be hard to find a spot that would appeal to both the older group and the younger group unless you were just spending time at the beach, in which case, you could go somewhere cheaper.
