Hi everybody,

my fiance and I are starting to plan our honeymoon, and we want to do something different that we probably won't ever do again (therefore ANY Disney park is COMPLETELY out of the question ;) )!!!

We were thinking about the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas... Has anyone ever been? I am sure your opinion will be a lot more valuable than the ones I can fin on the net, as you are used to great service and also know to treat the staff with respect...

Any comment will be really appreciated :goodvibes

Thanks

I haven't been but my SIL and her DH went for their honeymoon. They LOVED it and fell in love with the spa there. They said they felt like royalty!

My DH and I are planning to go for our next anniversary! Just have to make the arrangements!

We also have been there and loved it. The food is expensive, but the resort is so great, we never left it.

Our family has gone twice, and we LOVE it. It's my sister's favorite vacation spot (my heart belongs to Disney, but I'll pack my bags for Atlantis almost as fast!!)

Please feel free to PM me or email me at Fantasmic303@aol.com with any questions you have. If you have specific questions, you can post here too...I'd be more than happy to help.

They're actually getting set to open an entirely new area at the Resort that was being built the last time we were there (April of this year). It's going to be even more amazing than it was before, and if you guys are lucky enough to get there after it opens, I think you'll have made an EXCELLENT honeymoon choice!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for your reviews everybody!

I have been trying to price a package, and it says there are no rooms available for September 2007... I hope it's because they are not taking online reservations for that time yet...

I had never heard of Atlantis until one of my 1st graders went on vacation there for a week last year. She had a great time & returned suntanned, with her hair done up in all the little braids. Looked sooo cute!

I've heard great things about it. The Aquarium looks awesome, they have a huge ray and I think a bunch of sharks. But from what I've seen it looks almost like a theme park in to of itself. I can't wait to go myself. I'm sure its a great choice for a honeymoon. (I saw a documentary about it.)

We took a tour of the Atlantis on our Disney cruise last summer. We decided right then that it would be a great place to vacation. The pool area is awesome!

We vacationed there back in Feb. 2000. It is a beautiful resort. Plenty of places to dine. Some restuarants require men to wear Jackets and dress codes are enforced for some of the restaurants. It is expensive to eat there, but they do have a dining plan. There really is no reason to leave the resort. They are in the process of building an addition to the resort as another poster said. We will be going there Nov. 2007 and it will be finished by then. We were invited to a wedding there and the bride and groom will be staying in the new location. The slides are great, the dig is cool, loved looking at all the yachts at the marina and the beach is nice. You can do water sports right there on their beach. My only complaint was that I stayed in the beach tower and it was in need of renovating. You will have a great time there if you go.

I have been twice, I adore it  Absolutely breathtaking.....The most expensive rooms are in the Royal Tower, next expensive is the Coral Tower and then the Beach Tower. I went with my Mom, Aunt and sister...we booked Beach Tower but were up graded to Royal :confused3 We hated the room, no balconies... and asked to be moved back to the Beach Tower. I can't remember the room number but it had the most incredible view I have ever seen  It overlooked the stingray pool, and had a full view of the beach and the pool areas. My only complaint would be the food was riddiculously expensive, fortunately my sister and I pretty much just drank our dinner :teeth: I would recommend eating in the area that surrounds the resort, or take the ferry across to Nassau and eat at Senior Frogs and check out the straw market if you're into being hassled

I can't wait to go back someday real soon
