Looking for help on going to Atlantis for vacation next year.

1) What airlines fly either non stop from Philly or the NYC area? What should I expect for reasonable airfare?

2) Saw online you can stay at Comfort Suites Paradise Island and get full use of the Atlantis resort facilities, which is much less $$...has anyone stayed here? Thoughts...how far was the resort from Atlantis...were you able to use everything?

Thanks

I don't know anything about comfort suites but I know Delta and Northwest fly non-stop from LaGuardia. We have a timeshare at Atlantis and fly Delta from LGA to Nassau every year. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me! Sorry I can't help with Comfort Suites!

I can sort of help with CS - we booked a room there when we were stopping at the Bahamas on a cruise. Never actually saw our room, but yes, right next door - probably just as close as some of the rooms at Atlantis. I've known many people from NJ who wanted to go, but the airfare was always insane.

We rented a room from Comfort Suites to use the facilities at the Atlantis when we were on a cruise. We were told there were no restrictions, that all the facilities were to be used, although I did see signs at the waterpark that restricted use of that pool to guests at the Atlantis Cove only.

It is a very pleasant and safe walk from the CS to the front door of the Atlantis, less than 5 minutes. The Atlantis itself is huge. It probably took us at least 5 minutes to get from the front door to the kiosk at the pool to get out towels and wristbands. It is a gorgeous facility and I would love to go back. We spent until 4 pm there and still didn't see everything.

If I were going back to stay for a few days, I would definitely be willing to stay at the comfort suites.

I believe there are plenty of airlines that fly from NYC to there nonstop. That is where we flew out of when we went. I think it was American or Delta.

I would not stay at CS. Although it is safe and not a terrible walk I would compare it to staying off property at WDW. You can get great deals at Atlantis. Go on their website and sign up to receive their emails. They send me super deals all the time like $199 a night etc. I cannot wait to take the kids there. It is beautiful.

We almost bought the timeshare when we went! We are now kicking ourselves for not buying it but we were looking for a home to actually live in at the time and felt buying a timeshare was irresponsible. Stupid us being so practical! We should have bought it!

Ah you should have! We love it! What more could you want .. sun, sand, slides, beautiful hotel  But a house is more important haha .. hopefully you can buy it someday! The only bad thing is that they don't run on the point system like DVC. You're given a certain amount of weeks (we have 2) per year to use and that's it. I like the point system much better.

I just looked at the Atlantis website, and they have 3 nights-4th free, with a discount on airfare. I priced out $2300 for DH and I incl meal plan, which I thought was fairly reasonable, and cheaper than the Comfort Suites. Too bad that the time we can go, is during the black out period:upsidedow

We stayed at Comfort Suites and it was great, the room was very nice, but we really were never in the room. We were at Atlantis all day, came back to shower, change & sleep. At the time it was much cheaper then Atlantis.

We did have a direct flight I think it was on Continental.

I was looking at the Atlantis website and they have companion fares and all kinds of deals going on right now.

It's been a couple years since I've stayed at CS but I found that even when Atlantis was running specials I could still get a better deal at CS. I booked a room there once for a 1-day cruise stop and a second time for a 2-day post crusie stay. Both times it was $80-90 a night with taxes and we found the hotel staff to be very friendly, rooms were clean, included a fridge, free continental breakfast each morning out by the pool, short walk to Atlantis and there was a Subway and a sit down restaurant right across the street.

Atlantis is beautiful but unless the difference in the room rate between CS and Atlantis was minimal I wouldn't hesitate to book CS if I were to go there again.
