OK, I think I just have a few ( maybe more than a few!)
questions.. I am stressing between Atlantis and Blue Lagoon!

What part of the Atlantis beach were you "escorted" to?
Was it hard to get an umbrella?
Did they provide towels?
Were you able to have full access to the Atlantis areas, all of the aquarium, fish ponds, lobbys, bars and shops?
Were you able to purchase additonal beverages,, alcoholic and non that were not included in the lunch?
How was the lunch?
Is there any place that you are allowed to be (other than the beach) that you can get out of the sun but still be outside?
Was it miserable not being able to use the pools and slides?
What would you have done if it rained?
Was there an outside shower that you could rinse off in? How about a changing room, bathrooms?

Thanks! I appreciate your replys!

I don't know if this will help but we went on the Atlantis beach day in April of '02 so things might be different.

We were taken to a beach right at Atlantis. It appeared to be the main beach area.

Umbrellas - They had them but I can't remember if it was hard to get them.

Towels - They handed them out but we also took some from the ship's pool area and were sure to bring them back.

Yes you have access to Atlantis. You can walk throughout the hotel. Our excursion included entry into the aquarium. You could go into the casino with clothing over your bathing suit.

We had coconut drinks on the beach. I would guess that you can get drinks from any pool bar area. Lunch was at a pool snack bar and was pretty good.

My guess is there are probably showers by the beach or pool.

I would have loved to use the pools (there were a number of them) but you wear wrist bands that indicate that you are with an excursion group. You might be able to go in as long as you didn't use any of the slides etc. but we did not try. DCL clearly states that you are not permitted to use the pools. The beach is very pretty and nice but the surf was quite rough the day we were there.

Please note: there was a lot of walking to get to the hotel and beach. We got off the ship, walked to a ferry, rode the ferry to Paradise Island, walked from the ferry to Atlantis; quite long but pretty (along a marina). We then walked through the hotel, outside the hotel through the pool area to the beach. I was glad I wore good walking tennis shoes. I felt sorry for those in flip flops.

I hope this helps. I would verify and get answers from the DCL excursion group. If they don't know ask them to find out.

Enjoy your cruise.

Thanks so much for the reply. I really appreciate it. I am prepared to NOT use the pools and slides, I just thought I may be dissapointed and want to use them and wish I had booked a room. All I really want is to be able to see it all, have a nice relaxing lunch, then lounge on the beach for a while, with a nice frozen drink in my hand. I'd also like to be able to rinse off before taking the ferry back , I love sea water, but after it dries I get itchy. The ferry is supposed to take around 30 mins and after I figure in the walking time, I could be pretty itchy by then. Thanks again, I guess it's Beach day for us!
