I have a torn tendion/ligament so we opted for a beach trip to the Bahamas. It was actually cheaper. Staying at Comfort Suites with full assess of Atlantis.
Could use any tips you could provide. Transportation from airport? Need to pay for daily pool towels? Excursions? Swimming with the dolphins. Which is the best pool to go to 13/9 year old. It is gonna be hard not going to Disney...since we love it so much...I know I couldn't keep up the pace I like.

I think you'll love it, it will be different than Disney, but still fun and their new rapid river ride is a blast, can't get anything like that at the Disney water parks!! It's a beautiful resort, the marine displays are interesting and with the addition of aquaventure there's more to do then there was a few years ago.

The bracelet you'll get will include beach towels, you get your bracelet at the towel station at Atlantis and then grab your towel.

There's a decent continental breakfast at CS each morning and there's also a Subway across the street.

I've been there once on a cruise stop and then we spent a couple nights there after a cruise a few years ago and we just grabbed a taxi at the airport but the guy was great, very friendly, gave us some facts and history along the way and we asked for his card so we could arrange to have him return us to the airport. I've hung on to his card in case I ever return (I can pm you his # if you're interested).

I think all the pools will be fine for your kids, if you're there for a week they'll be able to try them all.

Not sure I can help you much with excursions, the only excursion we've done in Nassau is with Stuart Cove, which was fantastic (third snorkel stop was with sharks, it was amazing, but exhilirating!!). I'm going on a cruise next March that stops in Nassau and this time we're going to Blue Lagoon Island, not sure yet if we'll do the dolphin swim though.

And I always thought if I went back for a longer land vacation I'd want to take the ferry to Harbour Island because I love island hopping whenever possible but I'm not sure what it costs to get there by ferry.

Is the Comfort Inn across the street from Atlantis? Would you happen to have a link?
I have heard about this before, a hotel close that you then have access to Atlantis pools. Do you know if you can do all the programs, like swim with the dolphins & kids programs?
My husband and I went to Bahamas for our anniversary and stayed at the Sandals resort. We took a day trip to Atlantis, and we want to take the whole family back next year, but its pricey to stay at Atlantis for a week with everyone, plus dining. Comfort Inn option sounds interesting.

Sorry I can't be of any help with tours, we stayed at Sandals most days and just relaxed. Yes, Atlantis is much different than Disney. Just a different type of vaca, absolutely beautiful there, I think you will enjoy yourself.
Have a great trip

I haven't been to Atlantis, but we're thinkin about it, however, try the tripadvisor dot com website . It has been a wealth of information for my non-disney trips. Go on their forum and you can either do a search for information, or ask questions. There are also hotel and restaurant reviews ont there.

Moving to the Community Board. The Atlantis is a beautiful resort. You'll have a great time.

We went to Atlantis in August for 6 days and had a great time. I would feel comfortable grabing a Taxi at the Airport to take you to your resort. They all seemed very organized and professional. Our Taxi driver let us stop and pick up a few items from a small local grocery store. Make sure you bring all items you need such as sunscreen, it was $30 a bottle at the resort. The pools at the Royal Towers were where we stayed most of the time, it is where the slides and the river ride both are. Be careful the zero entry pool gets very deep, it was over my head, so maybe it is 6' deep. You will be doing alot of walking. Just to get from the resort to the pool area is quite a walk and also it is a far walk to the beach. It is a very large resort with alot of area to cover. The Dolphin encounter was fun, but expensive ($130 each), then we bought the pictures they took of our family, which was about $250, but I have beautiful professional (studio quality) picutres of my husband and myself and our 3 children. You will have a great time, my family wants to go back there now instead of Disney!
