We are on the Feb. 10th Wonder and have booked a room at Comfort Suites to be able to do all the slides and everything at Atlantis. First of all, will the kids, 16 and 7, be freezing doing the slides. Secondly, is this really worth the cost? Is it that much fun?

Well, that depends who you want to please! Seriously, we just did this in November as part of a week in Nassau (not a cruise stop). My kids (10, 10, and 8), had a fantastic time there and it was one of their highlights. My husband and I thought it was very beautiful, yet totally overpriced.
Since we were there over Thanksgiving, weather is a toss up in Feb. It was fine in the pools for them, they were having way too much fun to care. I went in once and got a little chilly but I wouldn't not go for that reason. They'll probably love it. If you want to relax, bring a lunch with you (the prices for lunch for semi-decent hot dogs and ice teas for four people was (are you ready?) $68.00!! My husband refused to eat - he was in shock! Also, if you love to shop, bring lots of money - the shops are really unbelievable, like Lilly Pulitzer stuff and I would've loved to spend a mint there, but it is very pricey. There is a semi-quiet beach that you can go to that is to the end of the pool areas where you can watch the ships coming in and out, but it's basically sand over concrete. Hope this helps, and enjoy your trip!!! Melissa :sunny:

Yes ,

The Aquariums are some of the nicest you will see anywhere.
The multiple slides will keep the kids occupied for a long time.
If you are having lunch go around to the front of the casino.
You actually have to walk outside - there is a great deli it is one of the more reasonable places to eat at Atlantis.

In one word.................... NO! The area is very spread out and by the time you check in and get your arm bands you would have been better of staying on the ship or taking the jitney down to Cable Beach to use their property (all be it smaller) for free.

We did a day room for $150 in September and I wo uld have to say NO!! I thought the resort was too spread out. The aquarium was nice but small and nothing out of the ordinary as far as good aquariums go. The pools were crowded and there was smokers everywhere. The worst part was the snack bar that was horribly infested with hungry birds. They were stealing food out of kids' hands and literally diving into people. Kids were screaming. Also, the beach was full of "vendors" that were very aggressive (and some drunk) who were trying to sell jet ski rides and bananna boat rides. They would become verbally abusive when people said no thank you. The Atantis security guard did nothing while this happened except sit in his golf cart and talk with his coworkers.

One thing I noticed was that the main lobby had a large area of couches and tables and there were dirty dishes(coffee cups and small plates) there when we checked in and they were still there in the afternoon when we left.

My kids did like the slides, though. I would never do it again. The casino was nice but you don't need a room to gamble there. The food prices were very expensive.

I also am going on the February 10 th cruise and also have a room booked at Comfort SUites at a rate of $194.00 per night plus taxes and housekeeping fees...about $250.00 total.....but when I look at any of the day excusions with 4 people they are not much less....what is your rate????

Tylerbug, did you book online? Comfort suites gives a nice online booking discount. We just called when we arrived in Nassau. I called Atlantis directly and they said we could have a day room at a flat $150 rate. Have a wonderful cruise!

WE have done a quick trip over to Atlantis on a previous cruise, but mostly wanted to visit the casino there, not the pools.

I personally would prefer to not spend a day at the pool there, mostly planning on enjoying Castaway Cay for a leisurely swim fun day. Seems a shame to spend $68 on a hot dog lunch for 4 when we can hop back on board ship and enjoy a nice lunch, all inclusive. :)

Here's a different view point from what's been posted here....My kids loved spending the day at Atlantis and it was the highlight of the cruise that they still talk about. The aqarium wasn't anything special to them, they've already been to some very larger ones here in the states and felt this was okay. Yet again, they were on the older side so this may have made a big difference. I would do it again in a heartbeat as my teens love it here.

And for the poster who told you that you could get a day room from the Atlantis, while that is true, there has to be one available that day. If the hotel is full they will not be doing that program so if you have your heart set on it and it's high travel season for the Bahamas or during spring break or something I would suggest booking ahead of time.

My rate at Comfort Suites is $192 plus all the taxes. I am tempted to cancel and try to get a day room at Atlantis, which might be cheaper and closer, but my kids are set on going down the slides and I would hate to not get a room. How old are your kids tylerbug?

My children are 12 and 6 ....my 12 yo is a fish and loves the water..we would be going strictly for the water slides and swimming.....I would prefer Atlantis also, but am a little nervous about not getting a room....not sure what to do............!!!!!!!!!!!!Wondering if anyone else has had good luck with dayroom at Atlantis on that day????

at Atlantis as part of the cruise trip, or are you just using these hotel rooms during the day to take a nap/shower while the kids are swimming?

If I had the choice Atlantis is nice, but way overrated, long wait for slides, I would book an extra day pre or post cruise and go to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, or even Wet and Wild in Orlando! Alot more fun, and less stress!

We have booked a room at the Comfort Suites. After the room cost and taxes, it was about $50 more than the Disney excursion to the Atlantis beach. But for that extra $50, we get full use of the slides and waterpark plus a room to shower and change in . . .
