We are considering this when we go to Nassau. Has anyone experienced this with a small child? Also, Atlantis only charges for ages 4 and up. DCL wants to charge you $110.00 for a 3 year old. Will be doing this one without the help of DCL!

Sharen,

Well, I can't help you as far as advice, but we are doing a Land and Sea in Nov, and we are doing Aquaventure. I have 3 year old twins, and a 7 year old. We booked a room at CS for $150. I was told the 3 year olds do not pay, but my parents booked a room as well, so hopefully, I can get an extra bracelet. I was extremely exasperated when I found out how much Disney was charging for this excursion. I understand they have to make money, but It would have been $620 for My DH, myself, and my 3 kids, plus another $320 for my parents. Because of the cheap room, we feel it is worth it to try it out (not for $940!!) If you go before Nov, please let me know how you made out.

Donna, I looked into booking a room at the Comfort Suites as well but because we will only be paying for 2 adults, it wasn't that great of a value for us. Originally I thought we would use the room for nap time, but other DISers told me that it is quite a walk from the hotel to Atlantis. I guess most people check in and out at the same time and never actually use the room. You get 4 Atlantis admissions for the price of the room. Good luck. I go December 7th. Let me know how it goes.

Yep, been to Atlantis a few times with my kids. My youngest started going there when she was 2. :)

What are your dates exactly? How many adults?

I will see if I can get it for you cheaper. I never do it through the cruiseline, the price is outrageous.

If you are not a big water park person, then I can suggest some nice beach/pool day hotels too for $15 pp.

Our trip begins on 12/7/08. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This is my question as well....What is there to do if you do the water park with a 4 year old? I would love to see Atlantis but wondered what all there was to do for this age as well...thanks!!!

We are planning to do Atlantis on our cruise scheduled for 9/1 and we will have a 3 year old as part of our group. I would also love to know specific experiences people have had.

I think my 3 year old will be happy with a pool and a trip through the aquarium. My bigger worry is my 8 year old...not sure she is going to make the 48 inch mark to do the slides and she will be disappointed. But we also have 2 older boys ages 13 and 14 and I know they will love what Atlantis has to offer.

We also have considered keeping the room at CS for the day so that dd3 and grandmother can return and nap/rest at some point. Anyone attempt this?

The first time we went to Atlantis, my kids were 2 and 6. They did NOT make the 48" mark for the bigger slides. But this place is so huge, they didn't need to make the mark. There were other slides for them. They could still do the lazy river, not the rapids. And we've been there 3 times and we STILL haven't done it all. And this is without them hitting 48".

The LPGA rate is discussed HERE by cruisers who actually did I. I have not used this rate yet.

Atlantis does have a nice water play area for the younger kids in the Aquaventure park too - it's called Splashers:

And there are pools everywhere:

Yep exactly, above the pools pictured in the 2nd link above, there are smaller pools with slides into THESE pools.

There is a small pool with floating sea animals (my daughter was sitting on one of them above)

And next to that is the Lazy River. You can lay the child ON you. This isn't the new rapids ride...that one is for 48" and above. But we spent a good hour on the lazy river, just floating around.

We were at Atlantis (via Comfort Suites) last year on Labor Day with 3 and 7 year old boys. There are several really nice kiddie areas (at least two, maybe three) and a calm lazy river as well as a lazy river with rapids. We did the one with rapids and it was a BLAST. DS 7 had no interest in doing the big slides, so DH and I just parked at a kiddie area and took turns riding the big slides. My favorite was the Leap of Faith, unbelievable! Also, there is a slide beside the Leap of Faith that you can ride with 2 people to a tube. The 7 year old loved this. I think the 3 yr old was too small. He did enjoy some of the smaller slides that feed into the larger pools though, as well as the aquarium.

The Comfort Suites is a bit of a hike from the pools and slides so I'm not sure it would be worth going back to for a nap, unless you send grandma and the baby back a couple hours before you plan to leave, pick them up, and continue back to the ship.

Have fun!

We were just there on 8/22 with the Wonder with my DS 5 and DD 3. My son didn't make the 48" heigh but enjoyed all the smaller slides and the lazy river. My daughter spent the 1/2 day at the Splashers and hanging at the shallow end of the big pool. The 3 y.o. is free and we bought the passes right at the Atlantis $105 for adult and $75 for kid. It was well worth it. The lazy river was great.
