Hey guys,

Just wondering what has happened to those who have plateaued.(sp) I had a great 1st week losing 8 lbs., 2nd week I dropped 2 lbs. But in the third week, nothing. Is this normal? My daily morning stick is a deep purple, so I know that I'm on track. Do people tend to have a big drop after not dropping for awhile? And, has any one not lost even though the stick is purple? And, finally, am I losing even though the scale says no?

I am doing induction and drink tons of water. Thanks for your imput.

Yes, I always hit a plateau in my 3rd week. It's normal, because your body is catching up to your loss. You are still losing inches during this time, it just doesn't show up on the scale.

Hang in there, keep doing what you're doing and within a week or maybe 2 weeks, you'll start dropping again!

Yeah I had the same problem. It seems you lose nothing, then suddenly its gone again. Maybe stay off the scale for a bit, thats what I did. Dont worry it will happen, just stick to it

Very common.

After a large loss, a lot of times you'll go for a little while with nothing... your body kind of has to catch up from the loss.

You may also find that you'll plateau for a while at a weight you were at for a long time (i.e. if you weighed 175 for a few years, you might stick there for a while before you lose more).

You can still be losing when the scale isn't moving... your body may be reshaping, or you may be losing inches. It's always a good idea to measure yourself now & then.

Measure yourself right now. I hit a plateau for the entire month of February after losing 18 pounds in 3 weeks on Atkins.

Let me tell you, if I hadn't had the reassurance of seeing that I had lost 16.5 inches during that month, I would probably have given up.

Just ask our Miss glo, she can tell you how helpful it is to measure yourself, can't you glo?

For some reason, on the Atkins plan when you are in ketosis, if you aren't losing pounds you are losing inches and vice versa.

Hang in there. The pounds will drop. Just come here to WISH, hang out with us, we've all been where you are right now and understand exactly how you feel.

Eventually the whoosh fairy will visit you and whoosh--the pounds will disappear. Happened to me just two weeks ago :teeth:

Don't get discouraged--you have already proven how succesful you are at this weight loss stuff. Don't get impatient with yourself, it sounds like you are doing everything right.

Isn't it great to have a place to go and talk about stuff like this with people who know exactly how you are feeling? I love WISH :)
