Are they allowed during induction? I did see on the loafs of bread it says it is not appropriate for induction but not on the candy (pb cups, etc) or bars... infact the book lists the shakes as a snack on the induction menu. Also I assume the bars are a meal replacement, however I'm wondering if we have smaller meals could Dfiance have one at night (works overnights) because otherwise he would go more than six hours without food?
The food actually doesn't taste too bad (tried pb cups and smores bar) but it did give me nasty stomach cramps.
Sorry for all the questions, it will happen with a new comer..lol

I definitley would not eat candy during induction. It would be much better if your DF took something like cheese sticks, a few hard boiled eggs or even some pepperoni slices for a snack. Maybe he could keep a bar or shake at work in case he forgets a healthy snack.

On the other hand, eating a bar or shake would be better than going without then getting too hungry and eating off plan.

I'm not sure about the shakes, but I've read that the bars and candy cause many people to stall. They definitely cause me to stall. I decided they are not worth it for me. I want to lose my excess weight and decided that was not going to happen anytime soon if I continually ate candy bars, even though they were sugar free. You also have to consider the stomach upset that often comes with sugar free candy not to mention the cost of that stuff!

You will have to decide for yourself if they are worth it or not. I just made a decision that I was not eating that stuff now. I tell myself that all of those things will still be there when I reach my goal weight and I can have them then. Right now, I'm trying to eat as healthy as possible. :)
