Atkins and Protein plan - ques. on bars

What kind of protein bar do you eat. I need to stock up on them for my trip to WDW in February - I plan on using these for breakfast and lunch a couple of days. Which are the best tasting? Where is the cheapest place to buy them? How long do you stay full on these?

The Atkins brand ones seem to be the highest price. However, I've not gone that way yet - even the lowest carb bars are a lots of carbs and if you are trying to stay around 20 carbs a day, the bar will be the majority of your carbs.

Fred Meyers stores (part of Kroger stores) has a great sale on low-carb foods this week. Shop around, read the labels and buy a couple to try individually before you pick up a box.

Thanks for replying! While on vacation I am not trying to stick to a certain amount of carbs. I just figured the protein bar would 1) keep me full longer and 2) be a good source for protein. On this diet your body is use to getting lots of it and 3) would keep me away from Mickey Waffles and pastries the entire time I am there.

Amanda, I've been eating the Atkins Advantage bars lately. My favorites are Cookies N Cream and Chocolate Peanut Butter. We get them at a store called Save-Mart - don't know if they're a chain or just here - for $25 a box. GNC has them for $30 a box. Sam's & WalMart sometimes have them but don't know how much they cost there.

They are very handy for breakfast, but you'll need to drink lots of water with them - they make me thirsty! They stick with me for 3-5 hours. They have only 2-3 net carbs. I'll definitely be taking some to Disney with me!! Protein breakfasts there are awfully expensive!

I also have eaten Carb Solutions bars - some are OK and others are yucky to me. They are a little cheaper.

I searched the web and found this site had very good prices compared to approximately 10 other sites.....and the peanut butter cups are really a nice 'reward' with only 2Gram total carbs. This site seemed to be 35% off most products.......
