I changed one of my TS from Citrico to AP. I have eated at Citricos before and really liked it but thought trying something different might be nice, any feedback on the food here would be really appreciated. TIA

Went to AP this past July...there were 4 of us, all adults. The food, wine and service were all FANTASTIC. We had several different dishes including venison potstickers, crab cake, the salmon (one that was on special that week only), the buffalo and the beef. Everything was AMAZING. I liked Citricos, but I liked AP better. I always like to go somewhere new too...you won't be disappointed.

I had the mussels for an appetizer and they were absolutely terrific. The buffalo filet was ok, but not seasoned, and I probably was just expecting more. The salmon sounded really good and I probably should have ordered that.

We really enjoy Artist Point - delicious food, nice atmosphere and great service!

We ate at Aritist Point as a last min reservation in October 2010 and were pleasently suprised.

I had reviewed the menu on allears and the menu at the resturant that night was different.

There were 4 adults and 1 toddler.

We had :

Portobella Mushroom Soup
Very filling. Rich and creamy. No mushroom pieces. My DH who is generally a mushroom avoider loved it.

Cedar Plank Salmon
Very good. Nice vegetables to accompany. Little potatoes and ? else cant remember.

Buffalo Strip Sirlion
Served with Black Diamond Mac and Cheese and Brussel sprouts which my DH substituted for green beans.
He said it was the best piece of meat that he had ever had. The mac and cheese was penne pasta with cheese and looked like bread crumbs on it.

It must have been delicious because there wasnt even a drop of sauce left... the remaining sour dough bread from the pre-meal took care of that.

Filet of Beef
This looked to be at least an 8 oz filet and was served with garlic mashed potatoes and green beens. Again ... not a morsel of food left in site.

Toddler meal:
Watermelon
Grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and steamed carrots.
The portion would have been enough for an adult.
Since she is only 2 years old we had a significant amount left.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST......

DESERT!!!!

We were absolutely STUFFED but wanted desert anyway.
On the recomendation of our server we had the Seasonal Fruit Cobbler.

Now this isnt your Southern Cobbler.

It came is a 4 inch cast iron skillet. And was a spice cake like cake with fresh raspberries and blackberries on top. In the center of this deliciousness was a scoop of hazelnut ice cream topped with granola.

Let me tell you.... from a southern girl who grew up on grandmother's cobbler..... THIS WAS A SLICE OF HEAVEN!!!

I hoped this has helped you in your decision. We loved it so much that we are planning on returning there this spring.

We really enjoy going to AP, it is my DD9's favorite signature restaurant. Everything about the place is wonderful. The food (especially the Sea Scallops), the service, and the ambiance is amazing. We were thinking about doing AP again for our May trip, but like you we wanted to try out different restaurants. Enjoy!!!!

I certainly think that trying Artist's Point will be a good experience for you. We've enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance there. Wilderness Lodge is wonderful. I had the salmon which was good. Since we were there they've changed the accompaniments for that entree. The side that came with the salmon (some kind of savory bread pudding) when we went was dry and uninteresting. DBF liked the buffalo. I prefer meat with a little more juice in it. The Electrical Water Pageant goes right by the lodge shortly after 9:00 and you can leave your table and go out onto the patio to view it. We do rank Citricos above Artist's Point though.

Exactly how I would put it. Best overall dinner I've had a Disney. The wild boar was awesome!

There is a great lounge next to AP too so go early and have a drink there. Stay afterwards and watch the Electric Light Parade from the beach.

We are trying Citricos next trip. Have not been there yet.

Artist Point is my favorite signature restaurant at the World. I've eaten there seven times the past few years and never had a bad experience (though in DisCopper's defense, any restaurant is capable of an off night--the absolute worst experience I've ever had at Disney was Citrico's, for example). The ambience is superb, the service has been exceptional, and the food always pleases. Granted, they've changed the sides on some of their signature dishes, but all you have to do is ask for a different side that does appeal to you. As others have noted, you can walk around the grounds of the WL before or after dinner: take in the geyser, watch the EWP, sit on the beach, and even catch glimpses of Wishes across the lake. Of special note is the wine list at AP which features wines from Oregon and Washington--it's a topnotch list, and AP offers wine flights with meals if you desire. I highly recommend AP and plan to go twice this on my upcoming trip next month. Enjoy! (P.S. If you try the buffalo, order it no more than medium, though medium rare or rare is better. If buffalo gets overdone, it gets tough.) ;)
