Was this last week? We were there the 4th - 9th and never could get in. We ran into another couple who tried also.:confused3

Glad you liked it. We (DD8 and DS11) thought it was one of the best meals we had. DD, who's not a great red meat eater, ate every piece of her kid's size steak. She wanted more. My filet was cooked exactly as like, was large and delicious. The dessert you show got my DD's eye, so I had to order it and swap with her for her meager one scoop ice cream. We thought our server was nice, and very good with my kids. Funny, we went the end of August and could only get the last night of the 10 days we were there, 9/2. It was the only place we had to wait time of more than 10 minutes after we checked in with our ADR. The entrance was really crowded with no where to sit.

wow...what dessert was that in the picture? Looks good!

I ate there on 10/8 there were also many empty tables for the entire length of my meal, we actually had a whole "region" of the restaurant to ourselves. The food was great.

I went into Epcot guest relations on 10/9 to update to an AP and their dining reservation board didn't have ANY of the restaurants listed as fully booked except for Norway for dinner, it advised going to ask in Canada for a reservation. So maybe if you went as soon as WS opened you could get a reservation for that day.

We didn't have to wait anywhere on our trip, matter of fact we asked to be seated early and were accommodated easily at Tutto, Yak and Yeti, and Le Chefs. Tutto Italia was actually seating walkups when I had tried to change our dining time and couldn't do so. I think online ADRs are to blame, look at any of the reservation threads and people will release 2-3 ADRS for the same meal on the same day. For every honest person that does that there are many that don't.... anyway, I'm totally off topic, it never hurts to ask at guest relations on the day of for a walk up reservation

I noticed the same thing in a few locations that supposedly did not have availability.

I was wondering if the issue was that they did not have staff to work the tables.

If they assume it is the slow season and they plan on only filling half the restaurant then they only bring in half the staff.

Hotels do this all the time. There may not be any rooms available, but they are only renting half the rooms during the slow season.

Did you notice servers standing around when you were at Le Celler?

I was there on the 6th of this month also & was surprised all the empty tables as well. I just figured there were no-shows or peeps late for their adr's. We had wonderful food and great service from a very good server named Kate!

9/28 - 10/7

Was there 10/4 & 10/6

 I was there 10/6.

I looked at the picture thinking that sorta looks like us in the back and then when I scrolled down and noticed the date.............

OH to clarify, it isn't us. We didn't have a high chair.

but did you have to wait before you were seated? The wait there has always been long - but then the restaurant has always been filled!

We "waited" about 2 minutes to be seated, which in my book is not a wait.

When we left the restaurant at around 5:45 there was no one waiting to be seated and I would say the 2 hosts and 2or 3 waiters chit chatting at the table where you enter.

I am hearing a lot that tables are empty, yet there is no availability. Why is that?

I'm getting hungry for the three kinds of bread sticks they serve at Le Cellier in that nifty upright basket!!

Lots of theories on this.

I have a few friends who work or worked at Disney. Hours have been slashed, and this has trickled down to the restaurant level. If there aren't enough servers for the tables, then they can't fill them.

Some of it could be busing of the tables. Quite a few tables in Mickey2000's pictures are clearly dirty, either just vacated, or at the very least uninhabitable. (A quick look from me and it looks like only four of the empty tables pictured are ready for guests, and even in a packed restaurant that would probably be the case at any given moment in time)

Another thing to consider is the holding back of tables. I know a certain percentage of tables are held back for Concierge and for VIPs. So if Concierge doesn't fill them up, then they may have empty tables at the restaurant throughout the evening.

Glad you enjoyed your meals Mickey2000 and hope that you had a great trip all around! (and that you enjoy your upcoming cruise too - I love cruising myself, but that's a whole 'nother discussion for another day):goodvibes

We tried to get into Le Cellier for lunch, but there was never an opening! (09/30-10/06) :confused3

I ate there twice Sept 26th-Oct 4th. At the lunch ressie there were quite a few empty tables, but a few days later I met seven other DISers there for dinner (Oct 3rd). The place was packed and we waited close to an hour past our 7:40pm ADR time.

When we finally got out of there, we walked through and almost totally empty park. Thank goodness the buses were still running, but at that time of night even the buses were almost empty. It was sort of spooky.
