We are going on the 4 day cruise and would love to go to Atlantis/Paradise Island. We talked to the Atlantis and Comfort Suites reservations, and they do not really have any information about day rooms, actually they were quite rude.

Does anybody have any experience in getting a day room at either of these hotels? We will have 8 in our party.

Also, is the Atlantis/pool/beach really worth seeing?

We just booked a room at the Comfort suites for Jan.5. We will be on the Jan 4th cruise. We got a room for 151.20. In this case I would either book it on-line or call the 800 number. I called the hotel directly at first since they usually have better deals but they quoted me their cheapest room @189...AAA rate. you would probably need to book two rooms for all 8 of you to get the wristbands.

I just did this in fact yesterday. Well, I had called before, but was looking for a dayroom only. Atlantis said we couldn't do that. But I've heard of others saying get there first thing and maybe they'll do it.
Anyways, they quoted me like 350.00!! I said, "no way!"

Checked the internet for Comfort Suites and got their internet rate. It was the same as the Lg Gold rate..126.00. But you do have to add 7.50 per adult and 3.50 per child. Then add 12% tax. It was about 152.00 when it was all added up. Much cheaper than Atlantis!
I wanted to have access to all the water facilities like the slides. So for a family of four, I think it will be worth it comparing that to many other excursions.

We've never done it, so I'm sure we'll enjoy it. Some say after you've done it once, that's enough. But everyone has their own opinion. I think to go over and just ck out the place will be fun.

Ok..more info. than you probably needed.
Have fun!

I booked the comfort suites yesterday too, also for Jan 5th.
I looked at a lot of different web sites and the best rate I found
was the LGOLD rate (their AAA rate was the same). I then booked the hotel through their 1800 4 choice number. They quoted a higher rate but when I told them about the internet rate
of LGOLD $151.00 they honnored that.

My understanding however was that rate did not include tax or
cleaning fee so that will be extra.

I did a search yesterday early morning for day room information
on this site and it appears that Atlantis at times may rent day
rooms for use until 6:00 pm, but they were still more expensive
than the Comfort Suites so I went ahead and booked there.

When we booked our day room at the Atlantis for our 1/5/03 cruise, I actually called the Atlantis directly in the Bahamas to get the information ahead of time. They basically told me that if rooms are available, they do the day rooms, if the hotel is booked, they don't of course. During the summer months they said the day rooms rates for $150 for the Coral towers and $200 for the Royal towers and this went up $50 during the winter months. I also called the Comfort Suites directly and they don't me they don't do day rooms.
since you have to get 8 wristbands, you'll have to get 2 rooms anyway since even the day rooms at the Atlantis only allow 5 people. I would get the room at the comfort Inn since this will still end up being cheaper.

Wintermom or anyone have their 1-800 number? I lost it.

Thanks,
laura

We booked a "Day Room" at Atlantis last October. We also called in advance and were told if available. We went to the front desk and were told to use the house phone and ask for a "Day room". It was around $154.00. WE had 4 in our group. We had a wonderful time using the pools and slides. We stored our stuff in the room and even showered before returning to the Ship. Here is a link below to my Atlantis picture's.

Bigsky,

The toll free number (which I used) for Comfort suites is
1 877 424 6423. The direct number for the Comfort hotel on
Paradise Island is 242 363 3680.

I called the toll free number and asked for the LGOLD rate.

Hope this helps,

I.M.H.O, it wasn't worth over $300 for my family of 6. We got off the boat, asked the cab driver what he recommended, he took us to Cable Beach for $5.00 each. It was SO BEAUTIFUL. The resort, Crystal Palace, had a huge water slide, swim up bar, big beach with motorized water sports, tropical drinks right out of the coconut, island music and an entertainment staff. And you didn't need a wrist band or a room. It also had a casino there for my brother! Our day there was WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!

We got our room for 126.00 plus fees. This is for our family of 4. If it was 300.00, I think I'd opt to do what you did for sure.

Did you go to Freeport? What did you do there? We'd like to go to the beach, but wasn't sure where. Maybe at Port Lucaya. But wasn't going to do that excursion.

Thanks,
laura
