Personally, I'm not too thrilled about this. We fly ATA almost exclusively from Chicago to Orlando, and we make the trip once or twice a month. I've always liked the fact that they are a no-frills carrier. I know all of the good seats, which I get when I do online check-in. Now I strongly suspect that the forward-most exit rows will be a part of business class. And for Orlando flights, half the plane is usually pre-board...this will add more pre-boarders and decrease the chance of the rest of us getting any overhead bin space. I wish American and United would start having reasonable fares to Orlando again so we'd have more options. Oh well, I still like the fact that ATA flies out of Midway and gives a free companion ticket for every three flights.
