At what age would you allow....

I'm LOL at the 18 or 19. I was married at 20 and I can't imagine a year prior (really 5 months) having to get my parents permission to go alone at Dland :rotfl2: 18YOs are grown ups and can support themselves and live on their own, I can't imagine they would need permission to tour Dland alone :)

To the original question. I would say probably 13-14YO in a group. -- I know Dland is a popular 8th grade graduation trip around here (Socal) and they just drop you off and say see you at the bus tonight.

I'm trying to remember when I let my dd & her friend, Brandi, go in the park by themselves. I think they were in 8th Grade, so maybe 13 & 14? Brandi's mom & I would take turns. When the girls first started going we would drop them off, and then in late afternoon I'd go to the park & be in the area. I think Brandi's mom did the same. When the girls were 15 we let them go for as long as they wanted. They also had other girlfriends who would go. They're 17 now and both still love to spend the day at the Disneyland Resort.

As far as going on a ride by themselves, they were 7 when they'd go on by themselves, but I was in the car after them, and when they were 9/10 they could go on Tom Sawyer by themselves, and go on rides while I waited for Fantasmic to start.

My friends and I are going in Dec by ourselves. Our parents will be driving with us, and will also be staying at the same hotel (GC), but in a seperate room. They will not be doing disneyland though.

I would say mid-teens. Give them 'about' $30.00/$40.00 each for food and whatnot. "Maybe" a key to the hotel,so they can take a break.

Well it depends on the kids I guess but personally, this is a family vacation and my kids belong with me. Once they get to the age where they hate their parents (14 & up) I might consider it.

In may, we went to DL and my kids were DD-15, DS-12(almost 13) and DD-10 1/2..., now my older two, as long as the buddy system is there, are more than responsible enough to be without mom and dad in DL BUT we stayed together the whole trip while we were in the parks, ....i figure at home they spend so much time with their friends and doing their own thing, that on this trip i got them to myself ;) Being in DL with my DH and all my kids was so awesome. My oldest daughter, a few times went to get herself a drink while we were close by and went into a couple of stores in downtown disney while i sat and waited for her, exhausted...To me, the best part of our trip was the incredible family time we spent together, on the way home, i asked my kids to rate our trip, and even my 15 year old daughter said a 10(wow, and that was spending almost every minute every day with her mom, dad, brother and sister :dance3: ) If we had gone with another family who had kids the same age, i would have had to allow her a small amount of time to go off with her friend, but she would definately have been fine...

Depends on the kid I think. We went when I was in 7th grade with a friend and we were loose in the park, I guess that is 13 age range.
