At what age can kids roam parks without adults?

I think my DS16 and DD13 will be just fine going on rides alone while I'm off with DD3 doing preschool stuff. DH isn't a big ride fan so we're looking forward to a relaxing time with DD3 while the older 2 hit Space Mountain 10 times in a row. Anyone have opinions? We haven't visited Disneyworld for 6 years so last time the kids stuck with us the whole time.

I would have no problem with my kids at that age going off together. Actually they both went on high school sports trips to WDW at age 14 and were in the parks with their teammates. As long as they have a phone to call you ~ go for it.

I would have trusted my two fully at that age - even before, but only you know how/when your own child/children can be trusted.

My sister and I were allowed to go off when we were both in High school (so around the same age as OP's kids). The rules were that we had to stay with each other, couldn't leave the park, and had to meet at prearranged times (for lunch & dinner reservations). We didn't have cell phones at the time. It worked out great for everyone.

I would have no hesitation about allowing a 13 & 16 year old to go off, especially with a phone.

As posted, 7 to ride alone, 14 to come and go from the parks. If my twins want, I will let them have a little freedom on our next trip, provided they stay together and in the same park or area as us. They'll be almost 11 and have a cell phone.

I wouldn't have a problem with those ages. My oldest will be 14 on our next trip and I'll give him more freedom if he wants it. He'll have his phone and he's small for his age, but he's a black belt in tae kwon do - I don't think I'll have many concerns when it's time to let him practice flying from the nest.

My younger son is more timid, more of a "pack" kid (sticks close to us), and is not observant at all (can't find his shoes when they're four feet away from him). He could be 18 before I let him roam on his own lol!
