Not to sound too much of a gluten but just out of curiosity if you get the skillet at WCC and you are on the DxDP, would you still get an app and dessert?

When appies were included on regular ddp, the salad that comes with the skillet was the appetizer. I'd bet it still is. But you do get dessert.

I did... but I was just trying the skillet to try it. The nachos were soooooooooooooooo good I didn't want to put them down. I was pretty full, but I got a fruit plate to-go as my dessert :)

We each got an appetizer and dessert when we had the skillet there on the DxDP in Feb 2010.

We did DxDP in September and my BF got the skillet, and was able to get the chips and dip as an app and the s'mores for dessert. And a milkshake as a drink. It was SO much food!

A newbie here, going next October, with the Deluxe Dining Plan. The above food sounds delicious. Would love to try.

Please tell, what does WCC stand for?

Also, when eating in a restaurant, can you get food to go? Would love to bring dessert back to the room to have for breakfast when starting off early the next day.

We're not planning to do any buffets on the trip, except for the Dessert Party, if we can get a reservation!

Thanks for any info!

Im a newbie too so i'd like to know what WCC is also!

I think im going next october also..was mulling over upgrading to the deluxe instead of the one the plan they give you. Im not really sure about it because this is the first trip i am planning myself and the dining plan is a new thing. the last time I was down there was no dining plan.

WCC is whispering canyon cafe over at the wilderness lodge. i haven't been, but all the reports on here say it's a very fun atmosphere, lots of tricks and jokes. very loud also, so if you were looking for a quiet dinner, probably not the best spot

I think we're going to do Artist Point one night.

We got the Deluxe Plan because we didn't want costs to add up with using snacks up on soft drinks, and we didn't want to be limited on how many TS meals we used. We also want to do some signature.

Since we'll be there during F&W next year, looking forward to using lots of snack credits to sample the food booths.

Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge. Good food but loud and noisy, and the waiters are known for playing "jokes" - for instance if you ask for ketchup, every server in the restaurant will drop off a bottle of ketchup. Just fun little things like that.

You can get food wrapped up to bring back. There were several times I couldn't eat dessert and brought it back to my room.

We did the DxDP and found it to be a crazy amount of food. We thought we'd love an app, entree and dessert with every meal but it was unrealistic for us. We were almost never hungry for dinner and ended up cancelling a couple ADRs so we didn't get sick overeating. We ended up with 5 meal credits left over at the end and 6 snack credits which is a total waste. We do contribute a lot of how we felt to the heat and the amount of stuff we were doing each day. We were drained so I think we were too tired and hot to be hungry. Regardless, we will do regular plan next time.

What are the dates of the Food and Wine Fest anyways? Thats an annual thing?

It's annual. It usually starts the first weekend of October and lasts through mid-November. If you want to go, avoid the weekends - we were there opening weekend this year and it was packed, and the lines for the food stands were long.
