We checked into VGF last evening in a 2 bedroom standard view. The room is the nicest timeshare we've ever stayed in, Disney or other. We also got a 6th floor room with a great view of the GF, monorail and perfect view of the fireworks. LOVE this place.

However...we had our usual garden grocer order delivered last night. My husband put everything into the fridge and we headed to MK. This morning, he went to make breakfast and NOTHING is cold. Looks like the thermostat in the fridge was set at 50 degrees or higher. We just lowered it but now we have a fridge full of bad milk, yogurt, deli, etc. He just went out to get some milk next door and to talk to the front desk. Heed this warning: Check your fridge temperature when you check in! So upset.

Jess that stinks! All set to go and now you have to deal with this. I swear being on top of things sometimes just doesnt pay off.

Well here in Ma. it is 4 degrees out. Hope you are having good weather for your trip and something can be done about all your wasted food and money. Have fun! Just noticed you're from Westchester county- my DD went to Pace university!!

Enjoy your stay at VGF!
We LOVED our studio in Dec! GORGEOUS resort!:thumbsup2

Much better weather I'm sure than in the NY area! TOO COLD..BRRR......:sad1:

Sorry about your spoiled food...We also always check the temp before putting in our items!

ENJOY!:thumbsup2

Housekeeping doesn't seem to understand the controls on the GE Monogram refrigerator.

Sorry that this happened to you.

Sorry this happened to you! I hope you can work it all out. Glad that your room is awesome!

I've seen that happen, I always check.
Same here. Perhaps they tell housekeeping to do it to save energy in between guests. I always check at every hotel we stay at that has a fridge because I often find the fridge set to a fairly warm setting.

OP: So sorry this happened to you! Your post serves as a good reminder to check the fridge upon arrival!

It does stink but I hope you're all looking at the bright side of things and enjoy your trip!

we've been members since 2002 and always had to set the fridge.

Glad you like VGF -we will be there for the first time next month -
Sorry about your food, but thanks for the heads up.
We have had groceries delivered and never thought of checking the refrig temp.

Just an update... My husband reported the issue this morning and gave him our garden grocer list and asked them to replace the refrigerated items. We also asked to have maintenance check to be sure there was not a problem and the temp was just not properly set. he came up and checked and it seemed to be working properly. We were heading out for the day but he said he'd check back in a couple hours to be sure it was still cold. just came back to room and fridge is restocked with all the items that needed replacing. We had left the spoiled items on the counter and they were gone...I told my husband I hope they didn't just put those back in the fridge, lol!

Just wanted to report the positive outcome and in the future I will always check the fridge temp upon arrival.

Another person chiming in to say the refrigerator is always turned down or off in every hotel I have stayed in, not just Disney. Residence Inn, etc.
I always have to turn it on and get it going first. It always seems to take so long to get it making ice (usually almost 24 hours), and I always want ice sooner than that.
I think housekeeping is trained to always turn it down or off to defrost the freezer, and they throw out all ice, and wipe it down.
Certainly a good precaution on their part, but can be frustrating.

Isn't GFV beautiful? I am surprised they replaced your items for you.
Enjoy your stay, and hope the weather is good for you.
