At the park now, FP+ lines are snaking through the park

But remember, folks - as we've been told: Those lines move really, really fast.

In fact, 30 minutes in the FP+ line is much, much faster than the same 30 minutes in a standby line.

It's seriously a blizzard in Oswego, Illinois, but I'll take waiting in a 60 minute FP+ line to shoveling this white crap any day!!!!!
29 trips to Disney World and counting...next stop POFQ March 2014
19 days to go!!!pixiedust:

Blizzard here in Crystal Lake too! Stay warm! Hope you don't have to travel! Stay safe! :goodvibes

We are at MK today too. We come this time every year so I knew it would ve an extremely busy day. The FP lines are longer than I have seen on past trips to MK on this holiday. The FP line for Big Thunder was back past tge Splash gift shop. The posted SB time was 50 min it took 38 min for us to use our FPs. At Space Mountain now. The FP line is out of the building up to thd metsl palm trees. My kids just got on FP line do we will see how long it takes. The past two days at Epcot and HS the FP lines were whst we are used to.

For proper comparison between FP+ and -, what were FP return wait times like during a busy time with FP-? I know my own experience in a slow time was that the waits were longer, but not excessively so, maybe 5-10 minutes. How much worse is a crowded day?

You answered my question while I was posting :).

When you went in previous years, did you find the FP return waits anywhere near what you've experienced today? How much worse are they today?

Here's the thing. I don't remember discussing FP return wait times much before 2012. That says something to me all by itself.

Forget about the purported tiny number of so-called "haters" on the Dis for a moment and consider that Twitter pictures like that can't possibly be great PR.

But remember, FP+ is now the great equalizer! In the past, people unfairly were able to get more fast passes than others and the lines were much shorter due to some people not using the system at all. Now, we all get only 3 and we can all wait in lines that are two, three, and even 4 times as long. :cool1:

We will be arriving on Saturday and these posts/photos are making me twitchy. But what really irks me is how rude the CMs are! Too bad, so sad doesn't seem very Disney-like.

Are you referring to posts in this thread? I don't think it's rude CMs as much as policy they are unable to do anything about. I picture them being more apologetic than anything in this situation.

I think many of them are just tired and burned out over it. Last time we were there in Nov/Dec, it was the "more mature" CM's that were openly expressing their frustration with FP+ - the younger CM's seemed more excited and positive about it.

But it sounds like it's even starting to rob the younger ones of their enthusiasm.

Meh, that is what I find myself thinking when I read the whining posts on the Dis. The CMs are only human.

Very true. Come to think of it we were there mid July in 2008 or 2009 and I don't recall noticing any major changes in FP waits from our September trips. Probably a few minutes, but nothing too noticeable.

Just looking at those lines and thinking, I wonder how many folk are walking right up to the attraction, only to have to backtrack when they discover they have to trace their way to the back of the line! If were walking up to the FP line for one of those attractions, I'm sure I would have walked right by the end of those lines first time round because I'd never have expected the crowds I tripped over a several hundred feet from the line I planned to enter was actually the back of my line!

Hello Everyone - Sorry you are having challenges today.

I am not trying to be negative, bragging or acting spoiled so here goes...

We have been to WDW for the past 14 visits and have been spoiled with the ability to work the FP system and acquire on the average 10 to 12 FP per day per park.

Of course when my DD was young the need for FP was not important. Touring calmly and enjoying the park at a leisurely pace was the way we wanted to tour.

NOW!! since my DD is older, the past 5 years its ride all you can and pass out at the end of the night and start over the next morning. That is was we called a great WDW vacation. You can rest when you get back home...:lmao:

We are going in July again and do not want to be restricted to 3 FP per day... With that being said we are migrating west to DLR....

We love WDW but we do not want to play the new FP system game.

This post is not to offend anyone or to put more fuel on the fire, so please forgive me if I had overstepped my boundaries.

I have set myself up for replies and I understand if you have to fire back.

Please have a great day.:goodvibes

We never waited that longbon those particular rides. Usually waited about 15 min in FP line. We used our third pick for Tomorrowland Speedway. I know it wasnt the best pick but my boys love it. They got on that right away and then got off and went back on with my band and hubby's band. They waited on FP line and rode twice in 30 minutes total.
