We are here and on day one of our trip. cast; 4 adults, 5 children 2 mo -11 yrs.

we arrived around 6:30 pm and had requested connecting rooms; they had us in completely seperate parts of resort. asked for a change and they got us on same floor. called down and they found rooms around the corner from each other.

very spread out here; for a family w/small children I find it a bit overwhelming. pool is great, play area great, and we love peppers market for variety.

staff is very friendly. transportation has been good. my brother is at a conference here; we are switching to AKL for end of trip.

overall we like it, but limited room service and lack of balcany a minus. and overall size.

I'll add more as we go.

  :confused3 I definitely wouldn't be happy about that...

Thank you for your report! I look forward to reading more.

What area did you end up in? CSR is a large resort but you can use the bus sytem to your advantage to travel to/from the main building.

Theme park buses go:
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas
1 - El Centro

Downtown Disney buses, as well as Park Exit buses go:
1 - El Centro
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas

CSR buses go in this order so that guests can hop on board a theme park bus and take it to the main building. They can then hop on a DTD bus to get back to their rooms.

Enjoy the rest of your stay!

back home and have some more thoughs;

Buzz2001, we were in Casitas #2 and yes we found the shuttle. It is still hard w/ strollers (and we had two) b/c you had to break them down.

Peppers was great all times we were there. CMs helpful and friendly.

Pool and playground a huge hit w/ the kids. Kiddie pool is good size and the fountain is a great touch.

Still, overall, I think the layout detracts from the experience. That said, I may feel differently if I took an adults only trip :-)

We left CSR for AKL....

Have been interested in trying CSR out.

It was originally designed as a convention hotel so maybe that's why, though this is said about many of the Disney resorts, they're so huge. Glad you had a good time anyway. v:D

With kids that is a tough resort to get around. I have stayed there tiwce with DH and it's our favorite! We like the exspansiveness, it makes you feel like not in a resort at all! Pepper Market is a great place, isn't it? I love that I can have pasta with an eggroll all in one place!

Try staying there with adults only - it's great then!

We have stayed at CSR on adult only trips...we hated it.

Way to sprawling..unless your room is close to the pool, seems like you walk forever. This resort is best left for the convention goers.

My wife and I loved the place when we stayed there in 98. We love the size of the place the pool areea just everything about the resort is top notch and we have stayed with kids and found no problems at all. We are DVC members and we spend some of our weekends at CSR.

I hear the resort is spread out. Is it as spread out as the CBR? We did not find CBR bad at all to walk. I have lupus and have a hard time at times walking, and CBR was not bad at all. We'll be at CSR in April, this will be our first time at this resort. Can't wait.
Thanks. Connie

hardly.

The resort is spread out but no more so than CBR. You can ask this question 1,000 times and get 1,000 different answers.

Here are some acutal distances.

Walking Distances
From El Centro moving clockwise around the lake path to:
Casitas 3 = .16 miles
Casitas 4 = .24 miles
Casitas 5 = .27 miles
Ranchos = .46 miles

From El Centro to the Dig Site, via the bridge near the Cabanas
= .35 miles

From El Centro moving counterclockwise around the lake to:
Cabanas 9B = .16 miles
