AT&T salesman just gave us $50 credit!!

DH needed to get a new cellphone because his old one was not keeping a charge and he was due for an upgrade. So he picked out a phone that was $50 and then salesman wanted us to try their new home telephone device for 10 days free. We said we would pass on it this time. Salesman walked away to do something for our transaction and came back and told us he would give us $50 credit on our bill if we took the home telephone device home with us for 10 days So we basically got the cellphone for free!

I'm not sure if he gave us that deal because we have been customers since 2005.

I had a similar experience when we upgraded our phones but it was to try Uverse internet. They gave us a credit on our phone purchases, my DH got an iPhone and we got my mom a pantech and we only paid $58 including tax. She had given us a $100 credit.

I don't know if other cellphone companies do this, but AT&T seems pretty generous with crediting their customers. I will say I have probably been credited at least $1,000 in one way, shape or form, since we've been customers of theirs. (And yes, I realize how much they make off my family's cellphone bills...)
