AT&T offering $200-$300 off iPad 3g

I got that e-mail as well BUT the real $200-300 discounts are for the iPad not the iPad 2. I had the 64GB in my shopping cart for $529 and I was SO excited - then I realized it was the old model, not the new one. I only want the iPad 2.

They also had iPad 2s for sale from the same link, but they weren't discounted. They have the 16GB and the 32GB for $629 and $729 - which is the regular price, AFAIK.

I'll just keep saving my pennies ...I set up a new ING savings account to take a little out of my paychecks to save up to buy the new one - $729. $10 down, $719 to go! (although I am going to save $50/paycheck).

Can either of them be a tether or hotspot for other wirless internet access? IE can I get one and then use is as a wireless router/hotspot in my house for my other computers that have a wireless card?

The iPad cannot be tethered or a hotspot. The iPhone 4 can be tethered to the iPad for 3G access

The iPad 2 does not have a Retina Display, but I personally believe that we will see the Retina Display in future generations.

I can't imagine that Apple did not already have the iPad 2 created when they released the first one. I think its horrible of them to release them so close together. But of course, it's not any more horrid than some of the things other companies do to get our money.
