At SSR Now

Kenny, I would love to hear any positive feed back. My family is heading for SSR for the very first time in August. We've always stayed at POFQ. SSR, though very beautiful, the layout is much different. My main concern is the bus transportation.

Wishing you and your family a magical time!:dance3::dance3::dance3:

I know what you mean about the parks....It doesn't quite feel like WDW until I get my view of the castle. <Great> pic out the window. Stayed in Grand Stand in Jan, and while we loved the location and room (quick buses, own pool, quiet), I did miss the DTD view.

Have a fabulous time! :)

Hey Kenny - hope you keep enjoying your trip. We're headed to SSR in December and love it there.

Have you heard anything about when the quiet pools/Granstand will be closed for refurbishment?

Thanks and enjoy the World : )

Would love to hear what you think of Turf Club. As often as we stay at SSR, we've never tried it.

We love the turf club. Was our third time eating there and the food is always great. DW had the prime rib which was REALLY good. I had my usually the ribs. SOOOO good. DD had grilled cheese. Not on the menu but if you ask they will make it. Definitely one of the more underated restaurants in WDW.

Also like the fact that it not in the middle of all teh disney craziness but you don't feel out of it either. Sitting on our balcony watching DTD you can still see all the madness but are far enough away that you can relax a bit when away from the park. We also own at BLT and while we are excited to try there, will always love SSR. It is like a vacation within itself.

haven't heard anything about a refurb

Which section of SSR are you staying in right now?
Staying in congress park. Definitely will always request this section. Love the views of DTD, especially at night. Staying in 1301 (studio) right now but had 1325 last time (1bedroom). LIke 1325 better because it was closer to elevator. Now we are literally the last room in the buidling.

Love the pictures! I will certainly be following you as it will make the time until my SSR visit go a bit faster. This will be our first SSR trip and we are very ready for a vacation with the Mouse.

So... I have added a bottle of wine to my list of things to take with us. Enjoy your trip!

Crowds were not that bad today, but it POURED when we got there around 11:30 am. Peter Pan was 50 minutes, Small world about 15. Mansion was 15 and Pirates was 10. Didn't make it by Splash Mountain or Thunder Moutain so not sure over there.

Rained on and off with sun finally coming out around 3. Back to the room now for a quick rest then to Turf Club for dinner. Maybe back to the MK after. Open with EMH until midnight.

Didn't take too many pics today because with the rain on and off got lazy and didn't want to keep taking it out of the backpack (DSLR).

Main pool was ok. I guess rehab went well. Were there in Nov and not sure what needed to be rehabed. Everything looked the same but never thought it was run down to begin with. Of course 5 minutes after we get in, the closed the pool for an "Unexpected" cleaning. :scared1: Somehow I don't like the sound of that. :rotfl:

Need to check my work email so I can pay for this trip. Oh and get a glass of wine! :rotfl: Check back in later.

Hey Kenny glad you are having a good time, We were there at SSR Congress park 3/3-2/24 and the first 2 weeks the pool was closed they basiclly did nothing, there were a few guys in the pool it sounded like drilling, then when we were getting ready to leave last week looked like they were filling it???? So never really saw them doing much of anything. It wouldn't have been so bad except that it was full the 2nd week and the Congress Park pool was crowded and the hot tub became a swimming pool for the little kids....:scared1:

Thanks for sharing your pictures! :goodvibes You are there for such a long time, hope you continue to enjoy yourself!! :goodvibes

Been away for a bit, but wanted to check back. Almost got derailed. DW woke up yesterday with a sinus infection.:scared1: Spent half the day in a walk in clinic near WDW. She spent the rest of the day in bed. Ended up with a few hours at MK with just DD and I. Had a great time just DD and I but not the same unless we are all together. Woke up this morning she still felt horrible but toughed it out and felt better as the day went on.

So yesterday was basically a loss. Got to love DVC. Made it bearable knowing we were just here in Nov and are coming back every year.

Made it to HS today. At 10:30 TSM was 60min wait or 4-5 return time for FP. Got FP and did some other shows. DD loves the muppets. Did that, Indiana Jones and some others and returned to TSM around 12. Only 45 min wait so we waited.

Went back to the pool for a swim later. Love the Congress Park pool. Got hit with a HUGE down pour:

Made it back to MK around 6. Rode Wedway (TTA but will always be Wedway to us. :goodvibes) Got to see Space Mountain with the lights on. Never seen that before:

Saw wishes (sorry did not have my tripod so they are all handheld):

I am so sorry your wife got sick. I hope she feels better soon.

Thanks for all the pictures. We are staying at SSR for the first time this June and we are very excited!

Great wishes pictures!! I am pretty sure I saw Space Mountain with the lights on too....a looooong time ago but maybe it's just a "figment" of my imagination? :rotfl::rotfl: It looks familiar but I honestly don't remember! Have fun!!:goodvibes
