We just checked in a couple of hours ago and everything is great but I thought I'd post to give a heads up to anyone planning on a stay anytime soon. The hot tub is closed and while the pool and slide are open, there are a lot of construction walls up.

Wow! We didn't visit the pool...we had a pool view room though, and I don't remember those being there a week ago. :confused3 Hope you are still having fun!

I don't think we'll get to the pool much. Does it interfere with the view of the fireworks at all?

If you can get to the pool, it sounds like you can get around what's in the pictures enough to get to the end of the patio area to watch fireworks.

If there is also something on the northend, hopefully Jenpace will say.

That's what it looked like when we were there in October - I am surprised it is not more progressed because people were working. We only used the pool on our last day - and it was my kids and husband on the slide over and over for more than 1 hour ;)

I don't recall the hot tub at all (where it is etc)

I sure hope they are done whatever they are doing by mid-Jan :)
We've planned a whole "down day" just for lazying around the pool and in the hot tub (while DS does laps on the slide of course)!

My thoughts, exactly! The hot tub was open while were there and there was access to the fireworks viewing area.

Thanks for the heads up jenpace. I had booked sometime ago for 30 December - 4 Jan but I think I'm going to have to change to Disneyland Hotel now. Anyone have any idea when the construction around the pool will be finished?

Be sure you check on the construction at DLH, too, though. I was there the other day, and while two of the pools and hottub were open, the slide was most definitely not, and the pool that seemed to go into the slide area was dry.

The DLH construction is done.

We're at Paradise Pier now (Dec. 11) and the pool is completely open, no construction at all. :thumbsup2

HOWEVER, the hot tub is, like ALL Disney hot tubs, only lukewarm. I hate that. Oh well...

Thanks for the update!!! I'm so glad.

And what is that with the hot tubs? Is it so it isn't too hot for kids? Lukewarm hot tubs give me the creeps.

I checked into the PPH on 12/4 too, but I was there early in the morning (when it was about 38 degrees outside)! When did you check in? Did you get an upgrade? (I got an awesome, free park view upgrade for the second year in a row! Woo hoo!)

I wonder if we ever passed each other in the elevator or around the hotel. On what floor was your room located? I was on the eleventh floor. Stranger things have happened - back in 2008, I was staying at the PPH in room 513 (not a good room for a couple of different reasons). Fellow DIS'er cseca ended up right across the hall from me, in room 514, though we did not realize it until we both returned home and compared notes on the DIS!:rotfl2:
