I know that there have been some uneven reports on Paradise Pier on these boards--particularly with the C.M.'s that work here. I want to report that we've had nothing but VERY friendly and attentive service here. Checking in was quick, easy and full of smiles. There was a problem with internet connection (turns out it was whole floors that were out because of Monday's storm) and they went out of their way to get us hooked up. First they brought up a whole new modem and router and installed it, and when that didn't work, they upgraded us to a view room! We still couldn't get internet, because as I said before, it was a floor-wide problem, but they still encouraged us to move.

Yeah, if I'd paid more (got a good deal this week) I might be slightly annoyed with some of the room problems (noisy A/C heating unit, broken shower head, chips in bathtub, all the usual wear and tear--but I'm just happy to be in a place that I can wake up and look out at Paradise Pier, and where I can get to the parks easily.

I would say the magic is alive and well here. :)

can i bother you with some questions? we have a group of 4 adults and 1 child with reservations at the PPH in february. -all girls. are we going to fit? what about bathroom space? just looking for your opinion, thanx

I know I'm not the original poster, and I haven't been to PPH yet, lol (will be there in Jan). So I hope you don't mind me chiming in here :)
As long as you don't mind sharing beds it shouldn't be a problem. There are two queens and the convertible sofa bed.
You might get a little crowded in the morning/evening around the bathroom, sink area, but as long as no one is claustrophobic, it will just feel "cozy" :)

We are going to be 3 adults, 5yr old and 17 month old when we go, but will probably still feel "cozy" lol.

I'm glad you're having a great time! I never believed the people here who said that a view room makes such a big difference at the PPH, but after my lackluster trip in November, I'm a believer. I think looking out over at Paradise Pier (my favorite part of DCA anyway) would've made the stay.

(Too bad it would've also made my stay too expensive! :rotfl: )

Thanks for the update :) We're staying at the PPH for the first time in January - can't wait!

Is the pool area still under construction? I thought I read somewhere that it was a while ago...

I've only had the view room, but for us, that incredible view made the trip complete, it is awesome!!!

How are the pillows at PP? Last year when I went to WDW and stayed at POP, the pillows were so small and fat. I think my head was on the mattress than the pillow.:rotfl2:

I just returned home from PPH a week ago (this was just the most recent in a long line of stays at PPH). The Mickey ears bath products are all gone, and what they have is the H20 Spa stuff now.

There are 4 pillows on each bed (not counting the festive beach ball pillow, of course). I did not find them to be small and fat. They seemed like normal pillow size to me. They were soft but not TOO soft. They still had some firmness to them. I think they may be new, along with the new bedding and decor in the room. We did not have a broken shower head or a chipped anything else.

I got a free upgrade to a DCA view room for the second December in a row - and I must admit that the view makes all the difference to me as to whether the room is special or not. Having that view just enhances the whole experience somehow, though it's hard to explain.

When I checked into the PPH, everyone was friendly. The CM at the front desk even told me that my room had "plenty of room" for 4 adults and 1 child. I don't know if I would go that far, because I don't like to share beds. But if you don't mind sharing beds, I suppose there is "plenty of room."

The only issue I have with the PPH is that they keep making little goofs on my billing (2 years in a row). So everyone be sure to carefully check your final bills and address any problems you have with the front desk before you check out! They tried to charge me for a 100% FREE night (no tax, no assessment fee, no charge of any kind), and if I had not caught it on the final bill they slipped under my door and called the front desk that morning, then I would have had to deal with it when I got home...and that would have taken longer to remedy. It's better to alert them to any mistakes on the bill right on the spot so they can cancel the charge before it appears on your card, or reverse it right away.

I really liked the pillow there, but I don't like a fat pillow. Fat pillows give me massive headaches. I hated all the pillows at WDW last December and September, but the PPH pillow was good. :)

You will fit, but it will be tight. The rooms are large by hotel standards, but the bathrooms are small and the sink/vanity area is in the same room with the toilet and shower.

However, for a regular non-suite room, it's fairly spacious.

The shower pressure is pretty lousy, but I really like the rotating shower heads. Also, the new H20 bath products really make my hair feel like straw. It seems like I can't completely rinse them out.

It's nice that you can quickly make one cup of coffee at a time, and housekeeping is always happy to bring you more "pods" if necessary. We brought our own milk to keep in the fridge, since all they have is powdered creamer. It's not great coffee, but it's coffee. We also brought our own breakfast foods, but the table (slides out from under the desk) is pretty small, and the desk chair is the only chair. You could pull the table up to the fold-out couch to eat.

I don't know if I've sufficiently answered your question, but I feel like I've answered a whole lot of questions you DIDN'T ask! Have a great time!!!

I am beyond bummed about the H2O product replacement. These have been at WDW for the last several years and I was so excited to be adding something new to my collection.:sad2:

I am now reconsidering my stay since it would be OPP and I could stay on spg points at the Sheraton.

Is it only the suites that have the toilet in its own small room in the bathroom? That is how our suite was. It is still IN the bathroom though. You have to go through the sink and tub area to get to the toilet room, but id did have a door.

I just shipped us a coffee pot to use while we are there. My dad drinks WAY too much coffee to rely on that, and then my mama, myself and my 18 year old all drink a bit ourselves most days. That one cup thing makes me nuts! And the pods are cheap, thin plastic; can't be good for you.

Thanks for all the info. I think I'll bring my own shampoo (Wen!).

I can't find the words either, but it makes the stay. I can not see staying there without the view.

In all fairness, that would have been an issue in any room you stayed in with two beds.

thank you both for your updates and information!!!

We stayed at the PPH once, it was DBF and myself and another couple. We had a great stay (I paid for the view but as an AP holder it was a great deal) and thought the room was quite big enough. Of course as couples we each had 1 bed but we even thought the bathroom area was big enough for 2 at a time. :) When we went they had the Mickey bath products (this was probably 4 years ago now.....) and we loved it, but we had also used the H2O products at the GCH. I had no complaints about either but I usually take my own bath products as well, just in case. :) The rooms were a good size, the view was AMAZING!!!! and we all had a wonderful time. I'm sure you will too....and if we'd had 1 child we still would have had enough room. :)
