We want to do the dining plan. I want to get reservations in advance. So I have to pick 7 table service restaurants. Below are the ones I want. For the 7th one, I'm debating between the Plaza or Tony's at MK, or should we skip both and find another? Thanks!

Cinderella Royal Table (Supper)
Rose & Crown (Supper)
Sci-Fi (lunch)
50's Primetime (Supper)
Shutters
LeCellier (Supper)

I would go with the Plaza.

We've never eaten at the Plaza but we have tried Tony's and I wouldn't go back. Despite a very early res and few diners, the service was slow. The food was just so-so. I definitely wouldn't take my kids.

Personally, for the MK, I'd do Liberty Tree Tavern...if you don't want a character meal (dinner), go for lunch, they have a great lunch menu. Tony's is also better at lunch than dinner, and avoid the tomato based pastas.

I vote for Tony's. We went the day after Christmas and had a 5:00 ADR - right when they opened. Service was absolutey wonderful and the food was perfection. DH and I both had the NY Strip and it was the best steak we'd had in a long time. Our server was very attentive, we never had to wait for anything, he was good with the kids -- even went "out back" to get Lady's autograph for them. And the best part was that we wanted to only use dining plan credits for us and pay for the kids, and he put all the extras the kids ordered on the plan and only charged us $11 for the kids' entrees (both had dessert too). Earned himself an extra tip for that :) Tony's will be a regular for us.

WE loved the Plaza, it was a refuge from the Thanksgiving crowds!!! My DH and I both had very good burgers and my DD's had awesome chicken sandwiches. the buns were like kaiser rolls, very soft and fresh. We topped it off with sundaes!! Yum.

I personnally loved both. But they are completely different.
If you want to get a bang out of your dining plan, go for Tony's. If you want to eat something lighter and healthier(somewhat), go for Plaza.

Dh LOVED Plaza sandwiches, I just may make an ADR, if I still can and surprise him in a couple of days when we go to MK.....I hear the desserts at the Plaza are pretty good too.

In looking over your dining plan, you could use another character meal? My vote would be for the Crystal Palace at MK. Then Tony's. Not that the Plaza doesn't have good food, it does, but it's not one to use on a dining plan as a sub for a sit-down. We like Tony's (me, DH, DS-18, DD-16) for lunches and eat there every trip. It's a great location to coordinate a late lunch ressie with the parade--you just step out the front door and get a great spot--especially the corner where the floats have to turn very slowly and spend more time for photo ops. The CP would make better use of your dining plan since it is the most costly. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

That's what we want to do too. What's a good time to have the lunch ADR and catch the parade...2:00? 2:30?

Thanks for the information. Not sure what to do. I hadn't considered Crystal Palace. I'll have to go look them up. I was thinking that it would be two table service meals since it's characters. Maybe I'm misinformed. Thanks for all the great opinions.

The Plaza. I know the menu is a bit limited but we have tried various things there and all have been very good. My fave is the cheesteak sandwich. The rolls they use taste very fresh. Our service has always been good and prompt. On our last visit I think I drank a gallon of iced tea since the server refilled me every time my glass got half full. :lovestruc

Unless Tony's has gone back to being good again, I'd skip that place and do Plaza. Tony's went from being our favorite to the place we most avoided. CP is a good choice though. More of a diverse menu than Plaza.

Nope, all character meals (except for the castle starting 2/1/06) are just 1 TS credit! Personally, I can't wait to try the Plaza but I love sandwiches- and dessert!

I thought CP was a buffet. Is that not right? We usually steer away from buffets. But if it is an especially nice, maybe we should consider it.

CP is a buffet and in my opinion (I will be in the minority here) not a very good one. I had lunch there and mainly stuck to the kids' side... Although I think breakfast foods are safer and I definately plan on taking my kids back but never again for lunch or dinner. I would say if you're already predisposed to not liking buffets, I wouldn't risk it.
