we have an 8am bbb ressie. They are not letting anyone in until 8:00! Dining or bbb. What a mess. No one will be at their 8:00 reservations at 8:00.

What has been going on recently? I keep reading reports of inconsistent openings, people being held back, etc.

Seems like management needs to come up with a consistent message and ensure proper training is given...

They did that to us several years ago when we had an early breakfast at CRT. I am sorry this happened to you. We got to the gates 30 min early only to be told to get in line behind every one waiting for the parks to open. I was so mad as we dodged people and half-jogged to try and make it not very late to our breakfast. And then you read all of these people who talk about getting in early.

Ugh ... Sorry! I would be so frustrated. I wonder if these out of the ordinary situations are actually operational issues that occasionally come up and prevent them from opening exactly as scheduled. I used to run a playground and an employee once spilled an entire bottle of cleaning solution 2 minutes before opening. We were delayed for about 2o minutes, but it just wasn't safe to open. Not an excuse, Disney should always be prepared for anything, just thinking out loud.

It's weirdly inconsistent we had a BBB Ressie for 8am and we were let in around 7:45-7:50am and it was amazing to take pics and feel like it was all yours for that brief 10min..I hope they get it together.

I'm so sorry. Moments like that are so stressful and sorta get you started on the wrong foot for the whole day. I hope you were able to let it roll of your back and enjoy yourself.

I think it is probably something like this.

I'm so sorry, OP. We had a similar experience at AK once when we had an ADR for breakfast at Tusker House right at park opening. The CM told us we didn't need to get in early since Tusker House was a buffet and there would be plenty of food. (This was right after they implemented the $10/person penalty for no shows, and it was still unclear how late you could be before getting charged.) The inconsistencies are beyond frustrating. I hope the rest of morning has been much better!

Glass half full, if they aren't letting anyone in you won't be late since no one will be there. Also, is it possible it's early EMH today and the park is opening at 8? I haven't checked the calendar.

The simplest solution would be (imo) to clearly banner a designated entrance for those having an opening reservation within the park. A line could form here for those individuals to be led to their appropriate destination. On the other hand, I understand that there are many days when the cast members may not be fully prepared to accept guests until the exact designated time (or a bit later). I'm sorry for your frustration... we understand. Good luck :)

that stinks, but you won't be late. If nobody is let in until 8:00, they can't expect you to be at your appt, or adr at 8:00. They would know at the establishments that you were held at the gate and not expect you until a bit later.

Things seem to change daily and one persons experience is different the next day. Thanks for reporting, it helps to know what to expect. I hope others who are there continue to report their experiences!

A bad day at Disney is better than a good day at work!

Just take a deep breath and enjoy your meal! You got the hiccup for your vacation out of the way :)

What was the CM response to having the reservation? Seems like a valid reason to let you in. If you had a dining ADR they'd let you in.........right? Has something changed. We have an 8:30am ADR at Crystal Palace during our January visit, the park is set to open at 9am..........I expect to be let it...........right?

Doug :goofy:

There was probably something going on inside the park that had them hold guests. MK hours were extended yesterday afternoon, and it's possible that messed with some of the nighttime work (obviously they should know how to handle this, but things happen)

A few years ago in DLR we had a BBB reservation before opening but we weren't allowed in because they thought there were some kids hiding out after grad night. BBB knew of the delayed opening and didn't punish anyone for coming in late.
