At Least 3 Things ~3/4/08~

The table salt does good to get a layer off..but it isn't as good as Ice melt..

I scraped off the ice for each of set of kids to get home every 15 mins.. by the time I got warmed back up.. looked out you couldn't even tell I had done anything...

I need DH to stop by and grab some essentials because they now have us under a winter storm warning until sometime tomorrow... The roads are slow going but I refuse to drive up and down our main hill.. DH gets to Kroger before the main hill...so he will only have to up the hill and the rest is a straight shot..he'll probably actually sneak thru the park so that he can get the smaller hill on his way home...

It's disgusting... some areas are having "thunder ice" we have not..but according to reports sn** is due in at some point...
I sure hope that DH does not travel north tomorrow... especially cause there is a stretch of I-65 that does NOT do winter well and they have terrible accidents that way...

I am NOT saying the bad thing - this is from the Weather Channel

Tonight: Cloudy with rain and snow showers this evening. Snow showers overnight. Low 31F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precip 90%.
Tomorrow: Snow flurries around in the morning. High 41F. Winds WSW at 10 to 15 mph.
Tomorrow night: Mainly cloudy. Low 34F. Winds light and variable.
Thursday: Rain and snow showers in the morning. Then remaining overcast in the afternoon. High near 45F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precip 30%.
Friday: Snow showers at times. Highs in the mid 30s and lows in the mid 20s.
Saturday: Snow showers at times. Highs in the upper 20s and lows in the upper teens.

This means I probably won't be getting to my $29 shopping anytime soon. I've been babysitting the sump today and then the roads will probably be yucky.

Took little bit to the doctor today because his fever came back. He also has a virus that the antibotics aren't going to help. Nice. My poor baby has missed so much school he is afraid they will keep him back.

Well tell little bit that they can NOT keep him back since he has a doctor's note..and that darn viral infection is what a little one I watch is dealing with... they tried to tell her she need to take her child home it was measles... I went in as well as here and we had the doctors office conferenced called in w/ the nurse & principal.. needless to say, she didn't like the outcome!

Hope little bit feels better soon...
I'll have to see what the weather service says for us.. Just got a call and they cancelled DS11's soccer practice good thing because I had already cancelled it myself..and mommy rules!

Here is what our local channel says..
This Afternoon: Periods of rain. High near 33. Breezy, with a north wind around 21 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Rain, Rain.. HeLLO! It's pellets of ice w/ that rain... breezy... when the door rips out of your hand when you open it.. I consider that more than breezy.... Well, at least they got the 100% chance of precip right!

Tonight: Rain or freezing rain likely before 9pm, then snow likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. North northwest wind between 11 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible. Seems that freezing rain/ice is here now...Wind around 11-17... well maybe somewhere but more than that here in the gusts!

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 40. West wind between 5 and 7 mph. Well, I sure hope it gets near 40...otherwise, I'm going to be very, very grumpy!

I need to get downstairs and cut some animals out for DD's poster due tomorrow that was just assigned today.. couple of kids in the class were misbehaving so the entire class got punished and had their projects do over night instead of on Friday... :(

Nancy, I'm sorry about your fall!! Take care of that ankle!!

Sending lots of pixie dust to all of you with crazy weather!! :wizard: We had really bad thunderstorms and wind here today. . .that means we get to practice the tornado drill at school. The kids just LOVE that one.

It has now taken DH an hour to just get to our exit from his work.. he still.. it usually takes him 40 mins. from work to home.... He said from the lights he sees on the ramp it will be at least another 45 minutes to get home!

Off to check the weather again...

Yep, we got ours about 3pm today... :( DH just called from grocery said it's a major sleet/freezing rain/"bean bag pellet" mix now.. I can hear it hitting the vinyl siding of our house at a good clip...

Stay safe and warm tomorrow since this is all headed your direction.. and believe me I didn't ask for it, nor did I want to send it your way!

Thanks. I think we are actually far enough south of the line that we will get mostly rain. Hoping. Although little bit wants there to be a 2 hour delay so he doesn't get dinged with the day off. :rotfl2: We do have the doctor's excuse to keep him until Wednesday if there is still a fever. We have to fever free 24 hours before going back to school. If you are sent home, you have to stay the whole next day too.

Nancy, sit your tush down and rest that ankle. That's a Mom order! Use some of that child labor in your house. lol

I ended up leaving work early then went back out, ugh. Doubt I will be going to work tomorrow. I need to be healthy for Saturday.

And yes, I did whine to my boss that it was him who passed those nasty black germs onto me.
