Yep, we are in a state that pays for textbooks (we "rent" them and have paid for them about 6 times over)... on that topic not only is this geography book missing chunks of pages but some of our high school classrooms don't have enough txtbooks so they books HAVE to stay in class so the kids can utilize them..BUT I have to "rent" the textbook that my HS kids don't have full access too... THAN the teachers want to complain about low test scores.*and it really is NOT the teacher's fault*.. NOTES will only go so far...sometimes a read through before the test triggers some memory recall!!!!! :headache:

WDWMom: Good luck @ STATE FINALS!!!! We are hoping in the next few years w/ my 2 little ones going into HS that we'll be at STATE w/ them on the same team..you get our current 7 & 8th grade class on a team and they really work well together... In 2 years they are going to be tough to beat!!!!!

Hey WDWMom! When are you at WDW next week? We're going to be there Sunday through Wednesday. Maybe we'll see you!!!!!!!

DD is a senior this year and the boys team is just unbelievable. She is friends with several of the players. They are 25-0. The 5 starters have been playing together since 3rd grade and just know what to do. They play in the semi-finals on Friday and if they win the play for the state finals on Sat. Tickets were all gone when I got there this morning. The schools only got 1200 tickets but we can get them online. DH wants to go on Sat, if they make it. I guess we will just have to wait until Friday night unless they release more tickets to the school. The Stadium is at Michigan State and hold 15,000+ poeple so I am not too worried. It has been a great season and the students and community have been wonderful about supporting the team. One players was even in the top 5 for Mr. Basketball. He came in 3rd.

Our 7th and 8th graders are the same. Both teams went undefeated this year. Can't wait until they play varsity. Of course, my boys won't be on the team unless they grow majorly. Neither made the team in 7th grade because they are vertically challenged although they are good players. DS14 didn't even try out for 8th grade because he knew they would look at his size and say no without even watching him play.

Hey WDWMom! When are you at WDW next week? We're going to be there Sunday through Wednesday. Maybe we'll see you!!!!!!!

We will be at WDW from April 4-9. We leave home on the 1st after school and DH gets home from work. Driving for the first time :scared1: We are staying in Louisville on the 1st, staying with our best friends south of Nashville on the 2nd. It is only about 9 hours to Nashville but the kids want to horseback ride in Kentucky. We have done it before and it is a great place where we stop. Plus, can't be at our friends until 4 on the 2nd. We will drive all day on the 3rd (about 10 hours) and get to Orlando late on Friday. Check into AKV first thing Sat. morning and start the real vacation.

If you are going to be there the 4-8th we could meet somewhere. Our only plans are on Sun.

ETA: just noticed you will be there the week before us. Too bad :(

My DS is vertically challenged too...but fundamentally he is the strongest player on the team!!! He won't give up b/c the coaches see his potential... Our pt. guard this year was only 5'5"... but they recorded him at 5'9"... If that baby is 5'9" than I'm 5'8"...and I know I'm only 5'2.5"!!!!!! Plus DH didn't grow til his freshman year and he stay 5'10.5". So, we can hope he gets some vertical to him! LOL

Sorry to hear tickets are already sold out... Ours were $25 each for state... so we were really hoping we'd make it...but our bank account said "thank you" when the money remained in it! LOL

$25 each  Ours are only $6 or $8 I don't remember. They are not all sold, just the ones the school was given. We will be able to order them online or buy at the door.

Yep, 25 each! I about fell over!!!

Our tickets for a game played at Conseco were $11 thru the school...but DD forgot to pick them up... so I had to pay at the door.. it cost us $91.00 total.. :faint: and than they lost to boot... I told one of the little guys he owed my $91.00! He brought me home a flower one day afterschool as a peace offering! Gotta love him!

Another good note:
DS8's tux arrived that I ordered on Friday night! Yeah!!!
Now to find the right shade of royal blue for his vest/tie we'll be complete..everything I find for little boys is a pale color in comparison to the mens royal blue... so I'm waiting til I find the right one... (which of course they were going to rent this so they were all the same...but now I find out I have to BUY it for my son!)... ERGH!!!

My day has turned upsidedown- I just found out that my DH foirgot to tell me or anyone else that tonight's cook wasn't going to be able to do it. Now I am cooking for 20 at church this evening.
