I gather my pics, papers, embellishments, etc. for each 2 page layout and put them in ziploc bags. Then when I go to a crop, all my stuff is together, I just need to cut the paper, crop the photos and put everything together to complete the page.

It saves me from bringing to much stuff and spending all my time searching for paper and embellies.

Thanks! Actually, it is perfectly clear. I told you I was having a DUH! moment. CM calls it that doing a power layout & that's what I've always called it, since it's what I heard first. I just couldn't make the connection this morning.

I'm always impressed with people who can do that successfully. I've tried many times, thinking then at least I'd get something done at a crop. But it never works! First, I spend WAY too long doing it ahead & then I don't like what I've put together once I get there! I think I just like to talk too much. "Do you think I should use reds & black for this LO or would blues & purples be better?" "What do you think, this red with this PP or that red?" "Should I use these stickers or should I cut some Sizzix?" and on and on and on.

How do you know what embellishments will work when you are packing your bags? I can pick papers and stuff, but then I fail to be able to pick all my stickers, cricut cuts and stuff. I love the idea though, it's like power scrapping when you are at a crop.

I take all my metal with me, DH bought a tower from AMM(?) and that has all my brads and such.
As far as the paper embellies go, I wing it. If I have a sketch and it shows a title I'll bring a few different ones or I'll use the cricut. Sometimes I don't get it all done, I'm usually missing titles if I plan to use the cricut (too loud), but the squares and mats etc, stuff from swaps, are pretty easy to judge. Especially when using sketches.

It basically is power scrapping, since I don't have a lot of time or a place to spread out at home I can do this 15 minutes here or 10 minutes there, til it's all finished.
I typically take my pics with me when I get the boys from school. I have to be there 20 minutes early to get a prime parking spot so I don't have to walk across the parking lot with 4 kids in tow. So I take the pics. When they are sorted I get my sketch books out which are sorted by the number of pics I have, and find what works best.
then I pull paper, and toss stickers and other embellies that I think will go, sometimes they work out, sometimes they don't. The pages go in a second 2 1/2 gallon Hefty ziploc and the scraps and other embellies go in another to be refiled when I get home.

Yep power layouts, I do everything but the box.
A talker huh? Lisa's mom is like that. I sit near her so Lisa can work. I can multi task so talking, eating, and scrapping are a breeze. But I do hate it when I get scrappers block. I'll get stuck on what to do. Like now, I would have my stuff done but all the pics are landscape from 1993/4 and they are all of the terrain when DH and I drove from GA to CA on our way to Hawaii. How many pics does one really need of dirt, cactus, and the sunset through the rear window. I really want to toss them but they are the only pics we have from when we first got together. Sad, sad, sad!

I did well yesterday and w/ rain most of the day I'll be housebound again today.. the wind is kicking up something good right now..and when did this hit..after I put my babies on the bus for school so they'll be soaked by the time they get to school..and our trash may be strung across the street too!

My list for today:
1. unload Dishwasherdone, well actually it was already done from yesterday and so I just reloaded it and will await dinner dishes to run it!!! Yeah me!
2. put away handwashed dishes done
3. store for laundry soap done
4. hope my house stays put.. mommy2mrb sent her wind my direction! wind subsided...still here!

Ok, so I finished that.. now I'm adding to my list....
1. need to find a photo template to put multiple photos on the page to get printed at photo lab. I don't want to waste all the ink at home... will utilize what i have and print from home.. too much time wasted on it today!
2. dinner done
3. kids' homework.. monitor, I don't do it! done it was an easy day!
4. started..put away at least 2 loads tonight if not 4. 4 loads done/1 in dryer/1 waiting on dryer/ 1 in wash.. 2 waiting.. maybe I'll get them all done tonight!
5. enjoy a movie with the kids it's our only night off this week! done(when I sign out the movie will start!!!

Call Bob about the front door contract Done

Go to bank Done
Get book for Class Done

I'm sure there are more, but these are the most pressing.

Boy! Has this motivated me! I have gotten so much done today!

In addition to this list I need to...
Call the Dance school for my DD - no class available for her Done
Put the Christmas decorations away Done (yeah, that was fun...)
Get rolling along
Put out the trash Done
Make dinner Done (we got pizza! )

still kit'ing pics - this is taking forever! I'll never be done with this.

well that was a wasted day, I got nothing done. 2 boys came home from school sick, so tomorrow will be spent at the DR's office. I am sick and tired of the sick and tired!!!!!

It's so great that I makes these lists...so I can see all the stuff I wanted to do and didn't get finished

I did go to BJ's and I even shopped from my list there Ban Wagon has far reaching results.

Update on DH's Uncle...it's burscitis (sp?)...he has to have physical therapy (Dr. Debbie was right again) and will be with us for another 6 weeks at least...

Ok, I didn't do well yesterday! I think I underestimated being tired the first day back!

Here's my list:

1. Empty dishwasher DONE
2. Go by mom's after work DONE

3. Scrap 2-4 pages

4. Write the last 2 thank-you notes for belated Christmas gifts DONE

5. Fix box for DH to mail for me. DONE

Ok, I got 4 out of 5 done! We watched last night's American Gladiators tonight, which is AWESOME! However, no scrapping for me tonight. I'm hoping to get some more done this weekend!

1. Go to work (and all 200 things that entails!)

1. Replace all smoke detector batteriesDone, although one detector seems to be broken so I need to get a replacement tomorrow.

3. Start MGM swap Started and finished it!
4. January CJ pages Not yet, but I may start later tonight, if I get my 2nd wind

Hmm, it's pretty scrap-centered. I'm just not up for housework stuff today.

I got two out of my three done yesterday so adding the missing one again today.

1. Finish baby shower thank yous
2. Start washing up baby stuff. I got it sorted yesterday by size so now its just to get the little stuff washed up
3. Finish taking down the Christmas decorations. We are down to the stuff inside just haven't got it done yet.
4. Make dinner again and set something out for tomorrow night.

I got 1 and 4 done. LOL DH thinks we should wait to wash baby stuff until he gets the painting done this weekend so that task is on hold. We started the Christmas but I'm not as much help as I was in December so its taking longer then we thought.
