Most parties here are out - mine are (except my oldest, born in July, swim party). I think people have them out because they're easier. I'm always very impressed with parents who have them at home. Dd9 is going to one on Friday, ds7 one next week, and I love that it's in town, easy drop off and pick up - CEC is 20 minutes away. My kids really like them, too.
I agree- my kids go to very few home parties. Well, the 13 year old goes to quite a few slumber parties, but the activity is usually out of the home, then they go back to the house afterwards. Anyway, the few home parties they've been to, they loved! I don't get the feeling that anyone looks down on them- it's a lot of work to clean your house and plan a party like that. A lot of us just work, have other kids, other activities, and it's easier to just pay someone else to do the whole thing!

. And his bday is in December so it's possible that we wont be able to go outside. The only location that he is willing to go to is Monkey Joes but that place is so expensive (bouncy place) and we really cant spend it right now. Everyone we know has homes at a place. We are the only ones that have had a home party.
