Hi everybody! :goodvibes

Last time we stayed at ASMo, and DD enjoyed the Mickey Waffles and the Mickey ear plates so much that she remembered them and asked for the waffles again on our July trip.

But this time, we'll be in the cabins. We will have the regular DP, but I don't really want to "waste" a TS credit or a lot of early park time on breakfast.

So we're planning to mostly eat bagels, eggs, whatever in the cabin so we can try to make rope drop (should be interesting with this group, but we'll try).

But I've got to get the girl her Mickey Waffles at least once! What would you suggest? I just want to know what option will be easiest, and not take away from morning park time, since it'll be summer and somewhat crowded.

FYI, we are only there 4 nights. We will be going to EP, MK, and HS, but not sure about AK the last morning or if we will briefly repeat one of the others. I am open to waffles in a park or at FW, or wherever will be easiest and quickest. Of course, DD would love to save the plate, but no way am I lugging a plate around a park all day, so if we get it in the park, sorry, kid, no saving the plate!

Thanks for any suggestions!

If my memory doesn't fail (and at my age it sometimes does), you can get Mickey Waffles at the Trails End Restaurant next to the HDDR and boat launch. Don't know if they also have the plates. Have fun.

That's nice to know! I know hubby will want to go for a couple of big breakfasts while we're there. I don't really do breakfast but I love me some Mickey waffles :cloud9:

Thanks for the info! I'm not sure yet if I want to do the TS though. Aside from the time factor, I think we would have to pay OOP and wind up with too many QS credits left, because it definitely would be a waste to use a TS credit.

Any good counter service options for early morning? If we were able to take the bus to the settlement, any idea how long would it take us to walk to WL to eat at their CS? Unfortunately, if we did that, we'd probably have to toss the plate just as if we were in a park. :upsidedow
Or would it be quicker to go to the Contemporary and use their CS?

As an alternative, does anyone know off hand if there is a CS place in the parks we could get the waffles?

I'm just trying to come up with the quickest way to get a waffle in DD and get us going ...

I'm not 100% on this but doesn't the boat stop at Wilderness Lodge on the way to the Magic Kingdom. Does Roaring Forks have Mickey waffles?

Take the boat to Wilderness lodge or Contemporary. I think both counter services have them.

You can get a big "Mickey Waffle" at the CS stand by the Hall of
Presidents. I can't think of the name ....Heritage sumthin or other.

You can get the waffle with Strawberries and whipped cream for
about five bucks.

I was going to suggest secretly buying a Mickey waffle iron and surprising her in the morning by making all the waffles she can eat, but the waffle iron we have:

Mickey waffle maker

seems to be unavailable now, and the only other one I can find is this one:

Mickey and buddies waffle maker

which would work but quite honestly I find some of the buddies look a bit frightening with some freakish zombie-eye thing going on. But if your daughter doesn't scare easily, maybe it would work?

Wouldn't take but a few minutes to whip up some waffles and then you'd be on your way! Our camping trips are never complete without our homemade waffles with strawberries and whipped cream!

Have fun!

ebay still has those waffle makers on from time to time...i got mine on there...

they were discontinued a while back for some problem...my iron has never given me a problem

Thanks to all of you for replying! I'm not positive which way I will go on this, but you have all given me some great ideas.

Polkadot, I looked at the waffle irons you mentioned. Yours looks like the real thing, perfect! Although I have to agree with you on the other. I'd never have thought Daisy Duck could look so frightening! :scared1:

We are looking forward to staying at the cabins, though, and I'm pretty sure we'll find a waffle somewhere. Thanks again, to everybody!

Well on the cabin route, I would get on the orange settlement bus, stay on it, and it goes directly to Wilderness Lodge (a lot faster than the boat). Then after eating breakfast, hop on the bus to MK, which picks up where the fort bus drops you off at. I find going this way to MK is a lot easier than going on the boat from the Settlement.

I could've sworn the Lodge had mickey waffles, but I do know they have mighty big breakfast platters.

Sleepy Hollow is the place at Liberty Square that sells mickey waffles, they'd probably count as a snack credit, if not, you'll have to pay out of pocket. I don't think they sell them in meals there. Just a plate with a waffle. And any kids meal comes with the mickey plate, there's even a lid too. So you can pick one up on your last day. Or pick one up on your first day, so she can use it for eating at the cabin...
