So at the moment we are at day 3 of our voyage to the FORT. Day 1 was an adventure unto itself. While we initially left within a half hour of my hoped for time 25 miles in things changed . we discovered we had left something important at home and turned around to get it now with our Toad attached . The rest of our for that day was uneventful. Our destination was Carolina Crossroads R dV Resort in Roanoke Rapids NC some 290 miles from home. Sorry Ed we got there in time to do our set up , Take the girls to the dog park then Dewinterize before dark. So no pics Park is nothing special. It had been a pasture before being converted to an RV Resort. Trees are non existent beyond the perimeter. Super convenient though for those running the I 95 Corridor.

No we had the Toad with us Lucille drove it to where we made the discovery of a missing prescription. We don't really have enough room on our road pull out of the driveway with the toad attached. So we use parking area of rest stop on US 301 35 miles away. I was hooking it up when she checked her meds and found 1 was missing. So home we went to get it

Day 2 was our long travel day. Three hundred seventy six miles to Camp Lake Jasper. This has become a regular stop for us, same as Carolina Crossroads . Unfortunately it has gained in popularity with Snowbirds due to it's proximity to Hilton Head. They can accommodate us on return trip but are on waiting list for site near dog park. Once again sorry no pics here as we arrived just in time to take care of the Kids before dark. As Lucille didn't make a Lasagna before we left Cracker Barrel Did the cooking tonight
Day 3.
Today was a Puddle Jump. Just went to Thru Georgia to Jacksonville North/St Mary's KOA. Just 125 miles away. Lucille wasn't happy with the idea of back to back 350 + miles travel days so as I have wanted to try here for a while Condition Corrected. Have to say this place some of the biggest sites of any KOA I have ever visited. Staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions about the area.
I did book the 1 site with private dog park and patio deck. As long as I stayed inside the enclosure with them they were fine. Let me sit on the deck, Katie was not happy and Sky gave me the Sad Sack Sadie look.

Don't EVER give up your alpha male position in the pack, Mike. If you do, the ladies in your life (Lucille, Katie, Sky) will run you OVER and not look back. (Well, maybe not Lucille) ....

For the good of the Pack  :thumbsup2 Glad you made it this far with no events.

Day 4
Today the trek would take is to Cabana Club RV Resort in Auburndale Fl (Exit 44 off I-4) just about 250 miles.
Brothers and Sisters can I get an AMEN and an ALLEL.UJAH We have been to the Mountain and seen the Promised Land and it is Glorious. We did a side trip stop at exit 323 of I-95 at Buc-ees. The place is Amazing and we only checked out half of it. As it was before 11am the tablet ordering was unavailable so it was premade sandwich selection only, The Jerky and Bakery were open and filling request . We tried the Chopped and Sliced Brisket and were disappointed by BBQ Sauce , I did a Sausage Biscuit and was impressed .Resized_20211208_103056(1).jpg

Man, i envy you guys. We pulled into a buckees because of the posts on the dis. There was absolutely no where to park with the camper. Every long spot was taken and people were parked all over. Unfortunately we had to go to the next exit for lunch.

If you aren't there yet message me with your number and I can talk you in.
Never mind, check your PM's

Just pull up to one of the dozens of pumps available and then leave it there and walk into the store and spend 30 minutes looking around (like everybody else does). :teeth: Don't even have to buy any gas, Spence.

I kid (but just barely). :rolleyes1

I did notice everyone does that down south. I filled up and then parked to the side to enter the store, everyone one else just parked.

It boggles my mind that the new Buc-ees they just built off 95 near ST. Augustine , and the one near Daytona did not plan for dedicated RV Parking ?!?!?! What were they thinking ! We just barely found a spot with our rig off to the side when we visited the St. Augustine location on opening weekend. There were tons of rigs circling around and eventually just leaving due to the lack of parking. There is more than enough RV's traveling that route for Buc-ees to have a real RV parking area . (maybe just install some "no overnight Parking" signs if that is the issue) .
We will prob not stop again with the rig . Not worth the stress, lol .
Good thing we didnt need fuel as it looks like its common to use the gas pumps as parking at Buckeys ! Saw tons of that happening , Sheesh ......

Day 5
Today was supposed to be a down day after 4 days on the road. I had booked an outfit to come and wash & wax the rig so we planned on doing an exploration of the property with the girls while they worked.
Instead I spent the early part of the day tearing apart the gravity toilet. It was put back together wrong when our regular repair guy replaced the original after our last trip. Everytime we went to use it it wobbled enough to get you sea sick. I thought it was a alignment problem and on the road had spent some time trying a few different things to fix it to no avail. Took it apart and found the tech had installed the new parts on top of the the old gasket. Condition corrected.
Detailers came just as I finished. Loaded girls into Golf Cart. Did a drive around and spent some time in the Dog Park while they worked. Came back to find they would be returning in an hour once it dried to wax it . So we made a list for PUBLIX and planned a run for after they finished, Staying was a good thing as vibrations from the buffers had the girls upset.
It really didn't help that the same vibrations upset her Highness and made her abandon her private quarters. That would be CHUBBS . Her cries of displeasure over her nap time only made the Girls more nervous and desireing of some Golf Cart Therapy. Happily the detailers finished in short order so some sense of nomalcy returned . Lucille and I made the PUBLIX run and thew some steaks on the grill for dinner
