Everything looks great and we are very happy to be home. Asked for an upper floor got 2nd, asked for ns, got it or at least there is no smell. Does anyone remember the thread about the red building out back near the MGM walkway? Well, we're getting to know it quite well. There are rooms all the way to the ground behind it. We do have a nice view of TOT& S&D. There is also a nice courtyard and it is very peaceful. The stairs are more convenient for the most part as we are almost to the end. No signs of any work going on other than a few "holes" in the hallways that have been half repaired. Not a good feel for the parks for crowd volume as we were only at Epcot for a few hours and it's Sunday, and I think the school vacation crowds may not be completely cleared out yet. The boardwalk seems quiet tonight as there were no entertainers at all. Not sure what's up with that as we have always seen some.

Have a great trip!! We'll be there in a couple of weeks, thanks for the update.:)

Thanks for the update. Wish I were there, right now, too!

I've read that the red building will be removed when the DVC sales force moves to SSR. Hope that's true - those rooms will all have nice views (landscaping, flowers, canal, Swan & Dolphin Resorts) once it's gone.

Best wishes -

Are the "red building views" considered standard or preferred?

And while I'm happy to hear they will be getting rid of said building -- I wonder what the view will be like during the dismantlement phase?!? <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_5_21.gif' alt='Construction Barrier' border=0></a>

Wonder if those rooms will be closed at that time? That could be rather noisy as well, I'd imagine. Any timing on when that great event will occur? (And please don't say August 7th!)

I'm not sure when the red building will be removed, but I remember our guide telling me when the BWV sales center first opened that the building was a modular building that could be removed intact via crane and relocated to a future DVC resort. If that is the case, then the buildings will be gone quickly and only foundation removal and new landscaping would have to be completed.

I just returned last night from a long weekend at BWV with friends (Wed to Sun). We were in room 3002, which is the last room on the end near Jellyrolls. The roof of the sales center was right below us but we had a nice view of part of the canal, Swan/Dolphin. We had standard view 1 bedroom reserved. Room was in good shape. The only bad thing was to the right was Jellyrolls' dumpster, a couple of mornings we heard truck backup sounds at about 5:45am. The only work we saw was part of the valet entrance to the lobby was blocked off.

Crowds were worse than I expected. We made good use of fastpass. Yesterday ToT was a 70 to 90 minute standby wait.

I don't think the red building is coming down right away as there were guests in one of the offices this morning. I would say they were purchasing or a serious inquiry because I saw them in an office with little ones for quite a while, so DVC must still be using them. In fact there is a covered walkway that goes right from the boardwalk offices out a back door right into the red building. I too remember when the building went up so these rooms were here before the building and I would think they must have been PV but we were booked SV so I don't know what they will be. I mentioned it to DH this morning and we both questioned it as how can they change the point values without upsetting the system. We bought when the offices were still at OKW so this is our first sighting of the setup here.

On a lighter note, I didn't have a huge problem with those that used our lot to dine or shop and yes we know those who want to park for free parking to access the parks, until just now. We came back from DTD and circled the lot 3 times till we gave up and went to the day lot. I never expected that all the spaces would be gone. Now I understand the problem and am changing my vote.

We went to SSR to check it out today and were turned away. They are working around the clock as the deadline is getting close and it sounds like they are running behind. They will have soft opening to check for problems in less than 2 weeks so the heat is on. They have even closed the golf course to limit traffic and concentrate on the job at hand without regard to distractions. We were going to get closer from the walkway to OKW but couldn't find it so we gave up. It does look like there is still a lot to do from the view at DTD before they will be ready for guests.

We couldn't find a space in the self parking on Friday afternoon around 5:00pm, many cars were going around in circles. We gave up and used valet.

The DVC offices will not be moving until SSR opens next month.
