at BCV now!!

What type of room are you in? We just got our waitlist today for the BCV in three weeks! Couldn't believe we got it and now I don't know much of what to expect. Does the rooms seem run down?? Also, I will be very sad if they close the pool at 5pm, that sounds really weird in the summer. Can someone comment on that?

Don't feel bad about loving your DVC villas. :thumbsup2 We stayed at a moderate resort before we bought in and it was nice, but I wouldn't trade my DVC for anything! We take family with us when we go and they all tell us what others have said about their stays and how they have longs waits for buses, or long walks or small room and our stays are always so nice! :cool1: We had some friends staying at ASP and we took her daughter home with us from a park and told her just to meet us later. She asked if we would be crowded with the extra kid and we told her nope. Imagine her surprise when she got there and saw that we had a GV :lmao: There was only 7 of us there, 8 if you counted her daughter. She said: "Now this is the way to vacation!" :woohoo:

we are in room 376, studio. it is almost the furthest room from the entrance to the villas. although it is close to the stairwell, which when you exit, you are real close to the parking lot-good for us b/c we drove.
the pool is open from 9-11. they don't seem rundown, they are painting the hallways as we speak.

we checked into our home resort of Kidani this morning. We are in room 7415- standard view. our view is of the bus stop. we walked over to Mara for lunch- we liked it a lot. went to HS this morning and the crowds were HEAVY.
we got FP'S for TSM at 10:30 and it is for a return time of 4:30- WOW!

good, glad to hear that. Stormalong Bay is absolutely awesome! We had to drag our 2 DS's out. So far the only complaint, if it is one, is our room location. I think we were spoiled by our location at Kidani last October. If that is our only "complaint" this whole stay, then it will be a great stay. More to come later.

I hope you and your family have a GREAT stay at BCV :) We just returned from our first stay there on May 29th and I have been missing it ever since...

just got back from a wonderful trip. DH drove straight thru- 17 hrs. 3 minutes-phew- what a trooper. 1 night at Pop, 4 nights at BCV, and 2 nights at AKV-Kidani. I know what I'm about to say might surprise some people, but here it goes: we like our home resort, Kidani, better than BCV- I know it's a surprise to some. We just like the atmosphere bettter- more relaxing, and this will surprise a ton of people: our 2 DS's (11 and 9) like the pool at Kidani better than SAB. They said the slide is better: SAB's slide is to far away to get to. The only bad thing I have to say, that comes to mind is: the bus service was not good. On several occasions we waited over 45 minutes for a bus and several times DH had to ask another bus driver when our bus was coming and they ended up radioing someone to find out. The crowds were heavy yesterday at MK. There was an incident at HS on RNRC where we waited in the studio for 45 minutes. Come to find out, a boy wanted off just before it took off, so they had to shut the entire ride down, restarted it, and then did it manually (or so they were saying). We did notice it went slower after they restarted it. The CM said they have to shut it down completely if someone wants out like that. I apologize if I am rambling, but I'm exhausted. We did try the kitchen sink at BNC- yummy! Oh, one more thing, there was a surprise in our room from our guide- he's the best!

Wow, that's some ride home! I'm glad you made it safely and thanks for telling us about your stay!

We checked into Kidani on 6/2 and were in room 7414 (studio) Savannah view. Second builing from the lobby and right near a secondary elevator.

When were were at BCV, we were in room 406, with a domer style balcony and a view of the quiet pool.

Yesterday we stopped at the Prime Outlets that are visible from I-4 (off I-drive) and stayed until 3 p.m. we made it home (outside of Augusta GA) at 11 pm (after stopping in Savannah for dinner).

Planiing next year's trip all ready.

at Kidani we were in room 7415 standard view, not 7215- typo on my part. The view was the bus stop. It was fine. We have done savanah and standard views- more likely will just do standard view to save on points from now on. The location was just fine with us. We even did 2 loads of laundry- that worked out well.
Home now for 2 days and we feel very blah:( We miss it. We aren't going until next year. We are planning 2 trips (first week of June again and the week before Christmas). Only 354 days until we're back home-yeah!

We spent the day at the hotel on Saturday -- swimming, doing laundry. Our little one was pooped after running all day long for a week. Man, that laundry room was a fight to get to on Saturday.....some family had been in there all day. We went in, was able to get two washers (about 15 minutes apart) did our lights and dark and got out.

Next year we are going with my in-laws, so for them, and to save on all that walking, we will stay at Jambo...

P.S. Sorry if you heard me yell at my husband Friday or Saturday. He goes commando style and doesn;t seem to understand that when our little one gets unruly, she needs a REST! I have to act as referee between them sometimes.

I did laundry Thursday afternoon- got in the room just in time. I used 2 machines and as soon as I closed the lids, several people came in. I waited in the room until they were ready to go in the dryer. Personally, I don't like the HE machines-take to long.

OMG! Yes! We did laundry at BCV on Tuesday night and we were shocked to see 55 mins pop up on the timer of the wash cycle (HE machines). Afterwards I did see a "quick wash" option.....oh well.

At AKV there was an ENTIRE family sitting int he laundry room on Saturday. The kids (one was about 10-12 and the other 7-9) were asking repeatedly about going to the pool "when the laundry was finsihed". I was bewildered as to why one of the parenst couldn't take the kids to the pool and then another switch off when the clothes were put into the dryer. Why the WHOLE family had to camp out in the laundry room was beyond me....not to mention that they used all 6 dryers for their stuff.

Then there was the lady who put her stuff in a washer (2nd load) and went to the pool area. Did not return to take her stuff out of the washer until my husband was down there taking our loads out of the dryer.....grrrrrr.

Our little one was napping after a morning at both pools (Jambo and Kidani - she mastered both waterslides once we discovered a life vest is wonderful as Mommy and Daddy get to save their arms and not have to hold her in the pool -- she's almost 3 and LOVED the waterslides -- shame we didn;t even think of a lifevest when we were at BCV). We were switching off laundry duty to go and check on her -- first the husbter, then myself. We only left her alone to start the laundry together (and for me to get an ice cream bar....)

Yup, we did laundry to at BCV on Tuesday late afternoon. What confusing is the sign in there: it says 30 minutes for washing and 30 minutes for drying. DH asked the front desk about it, all he got was "I don't know why it takes 60 minutes" He told them, jokingly, that they should change the sign- she got a kick out that.
We must have seen each other and didn't even know it.
I stay in there during the wash cycle, but come back after 15 minutes during the drying process.
I did see a woman take clothes out of a dryer at Kidani, b/c no one was there and the cycle was done.

Simba20- did you see the bamboo tree that fell over on Thursday afternoon during the storm- it blocked a portion the drive for a little while. and then the bus that blew out fluid which ran all over the bus area- DH was impressed how quickly they got it all cleaned up.

LOL!

I think it was night time when we did laundry at BCV...can't remember.

I do remember that my b-day dinner was booked for 7:05 p.m. at Le Cellier, and I thought it was 8:05. At 6:45 something told me to double checkmy notebook, when I saw the ressie was for 7:05. Luckily, we had all just finished showering from spending the afternoon at Stormalong Bay, so we quickly got dressed and booked it over to Le Cellier....thank goodness we were staying atthe BCV at that point in time. We made the ressie with minutes to spare. They said they would have held it for us anyway, but since I know how coveted Le Cellier is.........

My mom was with us on the BCV leg of our trip and took our LO to the campfire on the beach. They moved the movie indoors, but LO still talks about goign to the "new beach" (as opposed to the beach pool at SB) and eating marshmallows.

I know - coming home is always such a bummer. We just got back from BCV May 22nd and we are going to stay at AKV next year so I very much enjoyed reading your report. Thanks! I need to book something soon (I know it will be next year, just not sure when) so I don't feel so (as you put it!) BLAH! ;)

No I didn't. That's when we were stuck under one of the TTA beams/bench area at the entrace to the TTA, when that storm hit. There was a guy next to me who brought up weather radar on his phone, so we sat it out with his family while he checked the weather. Hmm my days are a blur. There was another storm, in which we were coming back from DTD (at night) and a bolt of lightning hit the intersection on Buena Vista and where OKW is at, everyone on the bus jumped and scremed. We pass by Epcot moments later and the fireworks are still goign off....nothign stops Disney. Rain was coming down in torrents, our bus driver was very careful getting us back to the resort. Saturday night we had a bus driver who applied the emergency brake every time he stopped, getting the bus going was NOT fun (aka a huge jolt).
