We checked in early Sunday...our room was ready at 10:00 am. We didn't go to the room until around 4:00, though, because we had PS for 1900 Park Fare at 11:00, then rode the monorail and boat and spent some time at FW campground.

Our room was a handicapped room, which we didn't think would be a big deal, until we went to bath the kids and get ready ourselves. NO counter space (the sink is in the bathroom and there is only two SMALL shelves to put stuff). It's a smallish square shower and, obviously, there is no lip or anything so the floor got SOAKING wet when the kids showered. We called and they changed us to a regular room the next morning. (I would hope we don't get charged the 25.00 room change fee...I'll have to check that). The first room was #528.

We got switched to #531 and are very happy. LOTS of counter space (sink OUTSIDE the bathroom). BUT...the room is a bit smaller and the balcony is way smaller. 528's balcony is a triangle one and it was pretty big (to accommodate a wheelchair, I assume). Ours is much smaller, but it's fine. I'll take the 'better' bathroom over a bit larger room anytime.

We're on our way to the clambake at Cape May right now....Older daughter is watching the kids in the room!

I'll be happy to answer any questions!

I have a question. Sometimes I read about people having problems with their air conditioning and it not working at night because it is on a motion detector. Have you had any problems with it?

Quick question for you. . . how baby friendly is the room? We'll be staying in a few weeks in a 1 bed with 17mo DS and I'm trying to get an idea of what I need to bring. ie, outlet covers, cabinet locks. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance and have a great trip.

What did you think of the Cape May Clam Bake? We have a PS for our upcoming trip in Oct. I also have a PS for the character breakfast at Cape May and Yachtsman Steakhouse.

If you have not tried Yachtsman, we had a great meal there last year. The kids (ages 3 & 5) shared a kids meal and a dessert and the DH and I had steaks. The server was great and it was one of the best overall dining experiences of our trip even though it was pricey.

Thanks for any information. Have a great time!!

Make sure you say "Hi!" to Art the Greeter.
My kids just love to chat and trade pins with him.
I wish we were there. Enjoy!

The room seems kid friendly...outlets are kind of hidden behind the table, etc. There is a lock on top for the balcony door. No problem with A/C at all. Clambake was WONDERFUL!!!! I want to go again! We did not take the kids, but they did have hot dogs and nuggets (not worth it for my kids ($$$ wise). We did the character breakfast there also and it was good. Both breakfasts we did were buffets and we were very happy with the selections and quality (Cape May and 1900 Park Fare).

I have not seen the gator but heard other guests talking about it.

We move to CB tomorrow (sniff...sniff)! (Could not see spending all that extra $$ for the weekend nights - would rather spend it on food, etc.!)

Oh, we can also see a bit of the fireworks from our balcony even though we're technically a 'woods view'. We can also see Tower of Terror.

Any other questions???

Pam

How extensive is the construction at Beach Club? Thanks!

Just wondering how close your room was to stormalong bay.....thanks...amy

Construction is not bad - some scaffolding here and there but no big deal at all. I have not found anything to be a long walk, including Epcot. It took us like 5-8 minutes to walk to Epcot and that's further than SAB. Lobby and pool are close. It's a tad confusing at first because you have to go outside to get to the lobby because the villas are not connected (it's a covered walkway).

We got to Epcot when it opened and finished everything by 2:00 (we did not visit World Showcase). Went over to MK and the crowds were pretty heavy - mostly by Splash Mountain. Wasn't too bad in other parts. Got to MGM about an hour after opening...it was crowded at first, but we used fastpass wisely (did not get any if the wait was more than an hour or two) and were able to see/do everything by 7:00ish.

I've been here since Sunday morning and today was the first time it really rained. And it was only for about an hour or so this morning. It's hot but when the sun is behind the clouds, it's not bad at all. It's the blazing sun that is miserable.

Buy your misty fans at home -- they're 17.00 here!

It's me again, Lisa's friend (from work). I just wanted to say I hope you and your family are having a wonderful time. We leave for Disney on Sunday and I am bouncing off the walls excited. Since you have little ones, I want to ask about your experience with strollers. Did you bring your own or rent at Disney? If you have your own, how is it getting the stroller on and off the buses? If you rented in the parks, how much are they and are the children comfortable in them? My sister is bringing a stroller for the 1 year old and we're renting a stroller for the 5 year old "as needed." I have no experience with this sort of thing and could use all the advice I can get. Thanks!!!!

P.S. I got a mister fan (it's a pretty nice size with the wide opening for ice and water) at BJ's back in June and it was $5. I wasn't sure how much they would be in the parks and boy am I glad I'm bringing my own!

Pam~

What type of room are you in......studio, 1 or 2 BR? Soudns like you're having a blast! We love BCV--it is our DVC home. Can't wait to go back next month.

Glad to hear you are loving the resort!! :) :)
Did you happen to notice what time SAB is closing?? Or what time Hurrican hannas is closing? Thatnks so much for the info.

Zera: (although not sure if you're going to see the before you go seeing as you have no power in Cleveland!) We rented a double stroller and were very glad we did. My 6-1/2 y/o was in it most of the time, as was the younger one. Too crowded to try to have the little ones walk, and plus this way they wouldn't tire out. Last time we came we brought two regular sized strollers and had no problems getting on and off of the trams or monorail. We drove to the parks so we did not use the buses. However, the back door of the buses are wider for wheelchairs so just get on there and you should have no problems! Looking forward to your post-trip report!!

SAB closes at 10:00 (this week anyway...I don't know if it changes) and I'm not sure about Hurrican Hannas...I've seen it closed earlier than I had expected sometimes.

We're in a (gasp) studio (yes, there are 5 of us) and it's great. I WOULD like more privacy, but we're a close family so it's not a major problem. Next time, we'll splurge for a 1-bedroom, though.

My husband has been inquring as to how much to buy into DVC, etc.! Looks like we could be members in the future!!!

We just got back from our second night at Cape May for the clambake -- it is SO delicious!!!!!!!
