At AKV Now

We're getting a late start this morning. So I thought I'd post a few things I've noticed. Wow, the new construction is looking great. You can get a great view from the Safari room balcony. AKC has been great. DW and agree that we could easily stay here and not even go to a park. We've had great views of the animals. All of the Christmas decorations are beautifull. Tonight we're doing the CP dinner package at the Garden Grill. We ate last night at Boma and it was delicious. Well better go. Looks like DW is all set. Not sure where we're going - may just take the first bus that shows up.

Are you staying in a studio? How is it? I have heard reports that the studios are small with little storage. What is your take on that? Do you have any children? How do they like the resort? Have a great vacation. Only 10 more months for me.

We are here right now also. Weather is beautiful. Bit more crowded than we are used to. Usually stay in October and/or January. We are in a 1BR standard view. View of the pool is nice. I think this room seems smaller than other 1BR's. Maybe its the layout. IMO, the bathroom could be smaller to make the kitchen bigger. Also - I don't like that you need to cross the shower to get to the bathroom. We are me, my husband, our daughter and her fiance, and my husband's sister. It would be easier to just sneak in and go to the bathroom, but if someone is in the shower, you need to go past it to go. Also - I am glad that the bathroom is not attached to the master bedroom. Jacuzzi seems smaller.

I hope I can remember everyone's questions. We are in a Savannah studio. Size wise it seems about the same size as other studios we've been in though there does seem to be less storage. We don't have any children with us - just DW and myself. Crowds have been larger than I was expecting. Right now it's around 3:00 and DW is down by pool getting sun while I'm up here on our balcony hanging out with a giraffe drinking a cold beer. Really neat - I could sit out here all day. Unfortunately we head home Friday. But we have 3 more WDW trips planned over the next year plus a week at HH. Life is good.

Hi WolfpackFan. I graduated from NC State but grew up in and am still living in Greenville so I am an ECU fan. I still like State too though. My DH and 2 DD are going the first week in March and will be staying at AKV for the first time. I was thinking about doing a resort day one day if there were enough activities to keep our girls (11 and 8) busy. Do they have a lot of things posted that seem interesting? Thanks for any info. and maybe I'll see you at the next rivalry game.

Nice to hear your having a great time and enjoying AKV. We'll be there in 30 days, a studio too. So, with storage being a problem, I guess I'll have to pack lighter. HA!!

tons of stuff for the kids to do at AKL, cookie decorating, cultural (bead) activities where you get an African bead for each one you participate in, stamping tote bags, water games, i don't know what all, but there was a page of stuff, they have a band of kids treking around the lobby with traditional istruments, plus games in the pool most every day.
