Asthma meds in carry-on?

Hi, my 2 year old was recently diagnosed with asthma. On our upcoming trip, we'll need to bring his two inhalers with us in our carry-on. I know they are exempt from our 3-1-1 bags. My question is if I need to have the prescription info with me. The label is on the boxes, which I usually throw away, and just keep the inhaler. The inhaler itself has no information on it. Do they need to see that? Also, do we need any kind of note from his pulmonologist or anything? Sorry, these may be dumb questions, but I'm an asthma and travel newbie!

Just did this today. You don't need to have the name on the prescription. I have tons of pills in a weekly pill sorter, I brought three albuterol inhalers, and one Advair disk--all with no names on them. No problem.

I've had proventil and qvar inhalers in my carry on - no labels or names - and never had a problem!

I cut the label off the box and place it in a baggie with the inhaler. This has worked well for flying as well as for day camp and overnight camp. It also helps me keep track of the expiration dates and pharmacy phone number!
