ASSports, Home Run building???

My in-laws took my Nephew to WDW today! for his first time, he is turning 8 yrs old on Sunday!
He wanted to stay at the Sports resort, since he is the biggest sports fanatic kid in the world!

My Father-in-law is a huge smoker, and had to have a smoking room, or everyones trip would be ruined!!! (believe me!)

I booked the trip for them, and I requested smoking and touch down building, cause that is what my nephew wanted, second choice Hoops.

so since I am there travel agent, I called the ASSPorts this morning (they were arriving today) to see if the requests were filled, anyway, there was no smoking rooms in touchdown or hoops, and they have to have smoking..... so guest services told me they could put them in Home Run.......

I'm upset that my nephew couldnt be in the building he wanted cause his Grandpa has to smoke! but besides that....... how is Home Run??? will my nephew like it?
is the location good?

We stayed in the Home Run section back in 1995 and it is great. There is a big score board and the second pool is in that section shaped like a baseball field with disney character as the pitcher and the batter. Hey he is at WDW he will have a great trip no matter what section he is in.

I know he will have a great time, they will be at WDW for 8 days!
but since this is his first trip, and he doesnt know what to expect, I didnt want his first impression to be a disappointment - that he didnt get touchdown.
but, yes, if anyone knows he'll have a great time, its me!

I think he takes after me (even though he is on my husbands side) because I went to see him last night, and he said to me "Aunt Laura... I am going to Disney World in 16 hours!!!"

I laughed so hard, he sounded just like me with the countdown!

We stayed in the Home Run building last May and my 8yr old
son thought it was the best out of all the buildings. He even
liked it better than our first request of touchdown building. It
is nice because it is right by the quiet pool.
