I could use help understanding the current available options for making reservations for cash at the Grand Floridian in early December.
I have tried to read through a number of posts, and have spoken with a couple different CM's, who have given me little or conflicting information, so I could use some help.

I am a DVC member and currently hold an Annual Pass and Disney Dinning Experience.
Several months ago, I called (407) 939-7429, and made a reservation for cash for 5 nights for early December. I made the reservations with the hope that later in this year, I could take advantage of an Annual Pass discount.
It appears that my current options are to: make reservations via the above number, which is more expensive, but offers a more liberal cancellation policy; or I can make reservations, via the on-line "best rate" program, and receive a discount, but make a non-refundable 1 night deposit.
The rates for the cash reservation is $349/night + tax (I think the tax is about 11.5%, so it would be a total of $389/night).
The rate for the "best rate" program is $311/night (Inc Tax).
The questions I have are .
- Is there such a thing now or in the future as an Annual Pass discount. When I talked with a CM at the cash reservation line, they said that the Annual Pass discounts only go through Oct, and they don't know if and how much it would be for Dec. However, I would have expect them to say that the Annual Pass Discounts have been Replaced by the "best rate" program.
- I didn't mind making a reservation for cash back in Feb. because I could cancel it completely or cancel it and replace it with a reservation using an annual pass discount. However, I am wary of making a "best rate" reservation, and pay a 1 night non-refundable deposit, unless I am sure I will be going in Dec. or that there will not be a larger discount via an annual pass discount.
Can anyone help me clarify what the policies are and will be from now till Dec. I would appreciate any and all help.
