Is there an "official" means by which a Vacation Guide is assigned after a resale? Do we get to choose one based on recommendations? If so, does anyone have a great guide that is taking on new DVCers? I want to be able to contact a guide as soon as Disney receives all the info. Thanks!

I don't know the internal selection process. If you've even contacted DVC about membership, you likely already have one. If not and you can get to them before the assign one, I suspect you can chose. Maybe someone else knows more about this.

We took a tour of Disney Vacation Club August, 2000. I purchased a resale in September, 2000. When I called Disney concerning some questions I was advised the guide that took us on the tour was our contact person. When she was not available there was a back-up to answer questions. I would recommend calling sales they could probably advise you. Good Luck!

if you don't like the person - you can change - I like my guide Judy Kaufman 1-800-827-7163. There are few people who are most than satify with there guide and will be happy to share.

Unless you are planning to do an add-on through Disney you won't really have much of a need for a guide. You have already purchased. Guide is basically another term for "salesperson" (like cast member vs. employee). If you aren't buying, you don't need one.

Member Services is where you call to make all your arrangements and you get a different person almost every time.

Pam is correct. I did an add on through a resale and there was no further contact from DVC as far as assigning me a DVC salesperson. If you ever are interested in purchasing through Disney again, simply call MS and they will have somebody contact you.

Thanks to all but I quess I'm still a little confused. If I don't need a guide, do I work with a specific person in MS or just call the 800#. Do guides typically book reservations for those who bought through Disney or do they call someone in MS or the MS 800# <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused">

You just call MS, your guide doesn't make reservations or anything.

As stated, guide is Disney-speak for salesperson.
